Peeta POV

I don't have a clue what Haymitch and Annie are laughing so much at and by the look of it, neither does Katniss.
'Haymitch, why are you here anyway?' Katniss asks irritably, maybe she forgives Annie for laughing due to the fact she was diagnosed insane but with Haymitch on the other hand? Katniss has always been short with him.

'Im here to deliver the news that Peeta's bakery has been compleated.' Haymitch says, throwing himself on the sofa.
'Huh, really?!' I say excited to say the least, it was going to be so much easier baking cheese buns in a proper bread oven. I couldn't wait to go down there so me, Annie and Katniss head down to the town square straight away.

On the way to the square, practically everyone we pass wishes us a good morning or waves hello, it's all because they felt sorry for us. Sorry for what we've been through. It's kind of depressing in a way because its just reminds me why they're being nice and then I think of the games and my hijacking.....

Oh no, I've thought of it now. I can feel the flashback coming on, I can feel the mutt hidden deep inside me growing bigger and bigger, taking over my brain and body. I stop walking and screw up my eyes, trying to make it stop but it isn't working. I used to have lots of flashbacks in my room in the Capitol but that was when I was by myself, that was manageable because I couldn't hurt anyone but myself. But right now I was in the middle of a road with plenty of people around, including Katniss, the person who the flashbacks were aimed at.
If I hurt her I couldn't live with myself, I love her so much that if anything would to cause to her harm I would protect her instantly but how can I protect her from myself?

I need to get away, get away before the mutt me took over; I spot an alley way and ran towards it, as fast as I can...

Katniss POV

I realise that Peeta isn't walking beside me anymore, I turn around in time to see him dart into an alleyway; what the hell is he doing? Annie seems to have realised too because she nods and says 'Let's follow him'.

We both run into the alley where Peeta had ran, when we turn into it he is crouched against a wall, his eyes screwed shut and his hands pulling his hair so hard I'm surprised it wasn't just falling out;I rush over to him immediately.

'Peeta, are you okay?' I ask, crouching beside him, he locks eyes with me and I can see them turning deep blue, he's having a flashback.
'No, Katniss! Get out of here! I don't want to hurt you!' He screams, trying to push me away.
'I'm not leaving you like this Peeta!' I yell back.

I'm never leaving him, we've been through so much, he has protected me and I've protected him, and I will keep on protecting him.... whatever happens.

Becuase I love him.

And you can't just fall out of love.
