Peeta POV

The moment Katniss' lips touch mine, electricity flows throughout me and makes my head go all giddy. She brings her hands up to my head and starts running them through my hair making my body feel even more electrified.

I can't believe that she is kissing me, kissing me for the first time in months and months. I feel so happy right now, so utterly at peace it's unbelievable, I feel like I'm actually loved by someone, that I'm actually needed.

And I've never felt like that before, ever.

There's no cameras around, no one to act for so this must all be real.

Real. Real. Real. Real. Real.

It's unbelievable, I think I must be dreaming. I mean, why would Katniss Everdeen, the girl I've loved since the age of five, love me back?

Oh, but she says she did. She really did say it.

I smile into the kiss because for the first time ever, I'm at pure happiness with my life; I feel her smile back against my lips too as she wraps her arms around me tighter still, making the electric feeling in my body intensify.

When we finally have come up for air, she rests her smooth forehead on mine and just looks into my eyes while I stare straight back into those beautiful, grey orbs with the goofiest smile on my face.

'Come on, lets go for a swim!' Katniss says after about 5 minutes, standing up herself before pulling me up too. We start to run like little kids running to an icecream truck, laughing as we go. I take of my shoes and t shirt, leaving on my shorts that double as swimming trucks whist Katniss takes of her top and shorts to reveal a swimming costume.

She dives into the lake, and starts swimming towards the centre, she gets mid-way before she turns around to find that I am still stood near the edges of it.

'I can't swim! Remember, when you tried to teach me in the Quarter Quell?' I shout across to her, as I start wading further into the lake, until it's too deep for me to stand anymore.

Katniss swims towards me and in the next hour she teaches me some basic, swimming movements. I find it pretty tricky at first but I soon get the hang of it. After I have improved quite a bit from what I was before, I start to get cold in the falling temperatures of the early spring evening so I suggest that we get out.

'You're gonna have to catch me first!' Katniss teases and with that she starts swimming away from me.

'Okay then, you're on!' I reply and start swimming after her.

She gets to the middle of the lake, and just before she's about to turn around to look for me, I duck into a cluster of pond weeds so she doesn't see me. From behind the weeds I can see Katniss spin around in a circle, obviously confused to where I have gone. I take a big breath of air and slip under the water, swimming towards her so she won't see me coming. The lake is quite clear near the bottom so I make my way to where she stands still, pretty quickly.

Katniss POV

I really have no clue where Peeta has gone, I can't see him in the lake or on the banks around me. I'm starting to get worried when suddenly a pair of strong arms wrap around my hips and lift me out of the water.

'Got you!' Peeta laughs in my ear as I recover from the shock of being lifted up into the cold air so suddenly; not that I am cold, no. Peeta's arms have this pulsing heat radiating from them, a kind of heat that tingles all the way to the tips of my toes so I'm not cold at all.

I twist around in his arms so that I'm now facing him. 'Its not funny! You scared me!' I say, sticking my bottom lip out and making a puppy dog face at him.

He smiles a smile that is so wide, I think his cheeks are going to overstretch. 'How can I ever make it up to you?' Peeta asks, resting his forehead on top of mine as he uses those beautiful ocean-blue eyes to look into my boring grey ones.

I am craving to feel those sparks and butterflies again so I utter the words, 'I can think of something that might work,' and I give into the hunger that sweeps through me body by pressing my lips onto his.
