Across The Bay

Chapter 9

"Ok so what's this idea you have?" A asked trying to keep up with K.
"Ok so T's watch read 4:02. And May's necklace had two arrows engraved on the back," K started, "Ok so the first arrow is pointing east and the first number on T's watch is 4. The second arrow points north and the second number is 02. So I'm thinking that they could be 4 miles east, and 2 miles north." K continued crossing the street.
"But how do you know what's 4 and 2 miles?" A asked.
"Me and T used to plan the missions together all the time. If I remember correctly, approximately 4 miles east is some cafe and if we go north from there, we'll hit the Golden Gate Bridge. At least I think that's what it is." K explained.
"So lets go and try to find them." A exclaimed starting to walk.
A and K started to walk through Union Square, away from what used to be their base. They walked past the business workers who were walking to work. Students who were waiting for a bus to get to their campus. A and K walked past everyone. Turning around a corner, K spotted someone who looked familiar. His face looked familiar but she couldn't put her finger on it. Then it hit her. It was Dyl from P4E. His face matched the picture she saw in the file almost perfectly.
He was tall, maybe 5'9-5'10 with short blonde hair. He was wearing a dark red jacket, a black undershirt, sweatpants, and some running shoes. He saw A and K across the street and took off. K saw how fast he was and she knew she wasn't going to catch up with him. K and A walked through Union Square, continuing to go east until they find the right cafe. They walked past an alleyway and A wanted to stop to get some food. While A went to get food, someone in the alleyway grabbed K by the wrist and dragged her into the alley.
"Hey!" K says as she slapped the person's hand away.
"Ow! Guess I deserved that." the person said in the alley's shadow. The person walked out from the darkness. Dyl walked out, looking at the ground.
"Dyl, what are you doing here?" K asked, surprised to see him here.
"Came to talk to your team but found your base destroyed." Dyl explained.
"Came to talk to us? Why? And how do you know where our base is?" K questioned.
"Yes, to talk to you guys. I'm through helping my group. I left my group about a week ago. After I left my group, they stormed off and destroyed your base. That's why I'm here, I was trying to warn you guys about that. But they got here a day before I could. I hope your group isn't all dead at this point." Dyl finished while looking down at the ground.
"Well they ain't dead, and you saw our base destroyed, so why are you here now?" K said crossing her arms.
"I'm here to help you guys. You guys need a more experienced engineer and expert on explosions." Dyl explained.
"Help us? Why us? We're your old enemies." K said.
"It's hard to explain, but I'll explain later." Dyl said.
"So you wanna join our group?" K stated.
"Yes." Dyl responded.
"Alright, fine. But one attempt to kill anyone that's part of this team, and I'll personally kill you in a snap." K said snapping her fingers before turning around and walking back to find A.
Dyl and K walked out and saw A.
"Hey K. Why is Dyl here?" A asked.
"He's here to help." K said.
"Help how?" A exclaimed crossing her arms.
"I'll explain when we find the others. But for right now, we need to find them." K responded.
