You're so beautiful to me

Tom's POV

I was watching tv when I heard something that sounded like puking, but I hoped it wasn't. I got up to check on my kids to see which one it was. I went to Jonas' room first since it was closer, he was playing a video game with aliens.
I then knew what was happening.

I went to the bathroom and knocked.
"Ava are you ok?" I asked
"Uh yeah I'm fine" she told me coughing.
I knew she wasn't so I used all my strength to break the lock on the door which worked and opened the door revealing something horrible for any parent to see.

My daughter purging. I knew something was wrong.

I pulled her to me and didn't let go for a while, she cried in my arms and I cried in hers.
"Why" was all I could say
She continued to cry unitl she finally calmed down enough to talk to me.
"I hate myself, I'm so fat and ugly and I want to die" she told me
"Everyday I wake up I look at myself and pray that its my last day here on earth because I hate my life, I hate being and feeling ugly". She told me

That hurt my heart so much to hear her say such terrible things about herself. Not because she's my daughter but I thought she was beautiful for a 14 year old. Her bright blue eyes that sparkled and dirty blonde hair that came down past her shoulders perfectly that she got from Jen, along with her nose and mouth that she got from me. I didn't think she was fat at all, she was slim all her life, she was perfect to me.
Then I thought about me as a teen, I became depressed and thought I was ugly too.
"Ava come here" I had an idea
I brought her to a mirror and she stood in front of me. I looked at us standing there together, I was like a 6'4 giant standing over her.
"Tell me what you see here" I told her.
She looked a moment and responded.
"I see a tall astronaut standing over his little alien" she told me.
I smiled at that. "What else?"
"I see a successful rockstar with his daughter" she told me.
"Ava you are my daughter, the only one I'll ever have. What I see here is a beautiful girl, she's perfect, she's exactly what I want, never change for anyone fuck those people. Give me one good reason why we need to be like them." I explained, I wanted her to get the message that I thought she was amazing Ava.
She smiled and hugged me.
"Thanks" she told me
"Of course" I answered
