Tomorrow Holds Such Better Days

Jacks POV

It's been about 4 months since I had my 'incident' and I've been doing a lot better. I'm 4 months clean, Landon and I are friends now, my grades are up, life was getting better.

I was skateboarding on the streets of San Diego, it was about 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. I was skating passed a bridge when I saw a girl standing on the ledge, so I decided to check it out. As I got closer I realized something,
I know her
Its Ava
Oh shit
I quick skate closer and closer until I jump off quick and run over. I grab her and jump backwards and just start balling.

"Why"? Was all I could say
"I'm ugly, I'm fat, I'm pathetic and useless and I wanna just die. I hate everything" she said.

I thought about what she said and it kind of angered me a little.

"Ava listen to me, You are beautiful, you're fucking perfect. You're kind, sweet, helpful, amazing, the list could go on forever, you don't need to throw your whole life away" I told her
"Ive been in your position and you've been in mine right now, I know how it is"

"What would I have done if you weren't here? Would I just go on with life now that my bestfriend was gone and never coming back? What would of your parents done? Just forget about you and move on? Or your little brother? How would your parents explain this to him? That you just 'died'?" "Oh yeah, how would I have explained this to MY parents? They love you too you know? They are glad I finally found a friend, they are glad I found someone one that made me so happy" I told her

"Jack I'm so sorry, I can't accept myself, I'm ugly, I can't see myself as beautiful and I hate it" she said. I went ahead and texted my dad to tell him what was going on and he was coming right over
I sighed and climbed to the ledge. "If you go, I go" I said. She gave me wide eyes. "No! I can't let you do that" she said. "Now you understand?" I asked. She looked confused so I explained.
"When you said you were going to jump, I was going to save you, when I said I was going to jump you saved me" "You were put in my position" I explained.

Soon after, mine and Avas parents showed up, even Travis and his kids came too. "Kids come down from there" my dad yelled

"See Ava? Look at all those people trying to get us down" "All those people care so much about us, because if they didn't they wouldn't be here right now" I explained.

She looked at me and hugged me. "Thank you" she said
"You're welcome"
We climbed down together.

Tom, Jen, and my parents came rushing over to us and hugged us, they even exchanged where Tom and Jen hugged me and my parents hugged Ava. Travis joined in too.
"Are you ok"? My dad asked
I'm fine, we should go home, I think Ava is alright now" I explained.
He smiled. "Alright then, lets go home" and we all went home.
