Ava's POV:
We walked to the school nurse to get ice to let up the swelling. The nurse asked a million questions but told her he fell.
After that we went to my house since it was empty because my parents would be at work for a few more hours.
We talked about everything, our favorite bands, how cool it was that both our dads were in a band, it was the best time I've had in a while.
The time rolled around where it would be the time we would be getting off the bus. I asked Jack if he had to leave but he insisted on staying.
"Ava I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me, you helped me at low times, when Landon picks on me, your the bestest friend I've had in a while" he told me.
I smiled the biggest I have in a while. "Wow Jack thank you so much, no one has ever said that to me before"
He smiled back at me. "Of course"
It got quiet again, almost like something was about to happen, and it did.
It was beautiful.
"Ava" Jack said
"Yeah?"
He got close and it happened.
It was so fast and loving, I never thought it would happen to me.
We kissed.
It was amazing, the timing was perfect, I loved everything about it. The way his lips felt on mine, the way it tasted like mint gum, the way his fingers went through my hair.
"Wow" I said
"Wow" he repeated.
"That was amazing" I told him
"Yeah it was" he agreed
We sat there for a few minutes in silence staring at each other, I looked at everything about him. His icy water blue eyes how beautiful they were, his blonde hair how perfectly was placed, his forehead how it wrinkled. Everything

Jacks POV
I looked at everything about her, her bright blue eyes like I have, her long sandy blonde hair how perfectly it fell past her shoulders, her dimples when she smiled.
Everything.
It was about that time when I realized how late it was and how my parents were probably wondering where I was. "Ava I would love to stay longer but my parents are probably worried" I told her.
"Ok Jack, see you tomorrow at school she told me. She kissed my cheek before I left, it was cute.
"Could I use your bathroom real quick?" I asked her.
"Go ahead" she told me.
I went to the bathroom and looked at the mirror. My face still covered in those words, I tried to wash it off but it wouldn't, my arms were covered in bruises, my lip was still pretty busted, and I still sported a black eye that wouldn't fade for a few days. I tried to cover my forehead and eyes with my hair so my parents wouldn't see it, and lifted the bottom part of my jacket to hide my lip, but I just put on my jacket so my bruises would be hidden.
After I was done I left, I checked my phone to see I had a bunch of texts from my dad seeing where I was at. I text him and told him I was on my way.

I walk in my front door to see my parents at the kitchen table I assumed waiting for me.
"Jack thank God where were you?" My mother exclaimed hugging me, "I was so worried something happened to you" she told me. That bothered me because something DID happen, but I just prayed to God my disguise was working.
"I was working on a school project" I lied, I was a terrible liar, I'm sure my parents knew it wasn't true anyways.
I walked away trying to escape when my dad grabbed me.
"Son"? He said. He began removing my jacket and brushing my hair out of my face.

"What happened to you?!" He asked concerning, my mother rushed over too.
