Chapter 19: Another Shock to the System

 Chapter 19:
A couple of days after the news of Hope's marriage to Wyatt hit the press, Steffy was at work looking at some of the news articles that had popped up online when she noticed something that caught her eye & her nose.

Curious over the scent of a French perfume that she didn't recognize, Steffy followed the scent until she found herself right at Thomas's door, which had her confused.

As far as Steffy knew, her brother wasn't dating anyone. He hadn't been in a relationship in a couple of years ever since Caroline left him for Rick.

However, Steffy sure wasn't ready for what she saw she opened Thomas's office door just a crack.

Inside she saw Thomas, & he was kissing someone.

Not just anyone. It was Dayzee, Marcus's ex-wife!!

Feeling panic come over her, Steffy barged in.

"What the hell is going on here??" she yelled. Thomas & Dayzee looked at her in shock.

"Steffy...." Thomas began to say. "What's going here, Thomas?" aksed a dumbfounded Steffy. Dayzee answered.

"I'm with Thomas, Steffy. Is that the answer you were looking for?" she said coldly. Steffy looked at Dayzee in shock.

"You......left Marcus for my brother?" asked Steffy. Dayzee just laughed.

"Why do you care, Steffy?," said Dayzee with a smug look. "You left Marcus for Rick, remember? You're the one who had an issue with Thomas & me being together. However, if you must know, Marcus & I had been having problems for a long time. Us going to Paris so he could work at Forrester International didn't solve anything. I did love Marcus, but what I felt for Thomas never really went away. When you find a love like that, it simply doesn't go away just because you find someone else. Then again, you stole Liam from Hope so I don't expect you to understand."

Steffy could feel the rage building inside her. She wanted to punch Dayzee so badly. This simply wasn't right.

However, Dayzee wasn't finished laying into Steffy.

"Oh, by the way, Thomas told me about you & Carter. I wouldn't waste my time with that guy. He's nothing special. Just ask Maya," said Dayzee with a nasty smirk.

After hearing that, Steffy had had enough.

"That's where you're wrong,, Dayzee," said Steffy angrily. "Carter is special. His love for me is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my life. He loves me in ways that Rick & Liam never could. Carter treats me with love & respect. He doesn't judge me. He makes me a better person, & I thank him for that. Now, I don't care how things ended between him & Maya because that means nothing to me. The only thing that matters is that Carter & I love each other."

Dayzee just shook her head at Steffy. She simply wasn't convinced.

"Believe what you want, Steffy," said Dayzee. "But you're wasting your time with Carter."

Steffy was about to leave when she noticed a diamond ring on Dayzee's left ring finger. All she coud do was glare at her brother & Dayzee as everything began to sink in.

Thomas, menawhile, felt horrible. He knew that he should've been honest with his family about him & Dayzee rekindling their relationship & becoming engaged, but he knew that they wouldn't understand due to the fact that Dayzee's marriage to Marcus had just ended.

"Steffy, I am so sorry about this," said Thomas sadly. "I wanted to tell you & our parents about Dayzee & me, but I felt that you guys just wouldn't understand. We had to keep everything, including our engagement, a secret. It was the only thing we could do."

All Steffy could do was shake her head. She was greatly disappointed in Thomas. She thought that he was better then that. Now she couldn't look at him the same way ever again.

As she walked away, Steffy felt the tears stream down her face. She was so angry. She wanted to scream.

When she reached Carter's office, she laid down on a coach & cried her eyes out. She just couldn't believe it. She knew that Carter, who was in a meeting with Eric, wouldn't believe it either.

However, it wasn't over yet.
