Chapter 28: The Engagement Aftermath

Chapter 28:
Two days after getting engaged, Carter & Steffy returned to Forrester Creations to quite a celebration.

The newly engaged couple were greeted by some very happy people. Ridge, Brooke, Taylor and her boyfriend Jean-Pierre Vesane, Thomas, and Marcus were all in Eric's office, which was decorated with balloons, to greet Carter & Steffy.

There were loads of hugs to go around. Jean-Pierre even gave Steffy a kiss on each cheek. Thomas even embraced Carter & said, "I know you two aren't married yet, but welcome to the family, bro." The two guys high-fived.

Steffy happily showed off her ring to everyone. Taylor teared up as she admired it.

"You OK, Mom?" asked Steffy. "Yes. I'm just so happy for you, sweetie. I think you finally found the one for you," said Taylor. The two women embraced.

Brooke was next to express her joy over the engagement. "I know that we've had many issues over the years," she said as she held Steffy's hands. "But I just want you to know, Steffy, that I am so proud of you. You've finally found happiness." Steffy just smiled & hugged Brooke.

After having embraced both Ridge & Taylor, Carter went over to hug his smiling brother.

"I know things have been rough for me lately, but that's not going to stop me from being happy for you, Carter," said Marcus. "You deserve it, big brother." 

Carter smiled & said, "Thanks, little bro. I appreciate it a lot." The brothers then hugged.

While all of the celebrating was going on, Liam happened to walk by & noticed all the fuss going on. He looked through the slighlty opened door & felt himself becoming depressed.

Seeing the love of his life, Steffy, happy with another man & sporting an engagement ring finally made Liam realize that she was right.

He & Steffy were never meant to be together in the first place. He had caused her too much pain over the years, & she needed to move on. From what Liam saw, she had found her happily ever after with Carter.

Now Liam was married to Ivy, & even though they were having issues, he was determined to make it work.

As he walked away from Eric's office, Liam looked back one last time & sighed. He then muttered, "I'll always love you, Steffy." He then disappeared around the corner & was off to his wife's office.

Meanwhile, the celebration continued. Hope & Wyatt showed up & joined in, overjoyed over their friends' engagement.

All now seemed right in the world.

At least to Carter & Steffy, it was.
