Mark POV
I got out of the van and shook my head. Rydel rang us last night and said Riker and Lea broke up again, Lea's coming home and Riker's walked off so if he comes home just keep them away, well he didn't come home, he wasn't answering his phone and I remember him getting angry once before when we were here and Pops bought him to the top of the hill behind the house, which surprisingly takes half an hour to get to by car.
"This conversation is going to go two ways, the first way is the right way which is where you tell me the honest truth and nobody dies and the second way you make up some lie and I push you off, your choice." I said sitting down next to Riker.
He sighed and leaned forward "Lea poured a drink over Sue's boyfriend and the girl he was with was Hailee, there was a argument and Hailee told Lea that we had a on and off relationship for the past 7 years and that we hooked up two months ago, Lea walked outside saying she wasn't feeling good, I followed her and we got into a argument and broke up."
His smart, he chose the first choice because what he doesn't know is everyone else told me what had happened as well so if any parts didn't make sense I wouldn't hesitate to push him......in a joking way....I'm not a bad parent I promise.
"She said if she had a time machine she would go back 35 years ago and make sure you and Mom didn't meet Max and Gwen if she knew I was going to turn out the fucking way I did !" Riker shouted standing up getting angry and started kicking things.
Riker is a strange character in a sense, he'll show his emotions but he doesn't let them take control unless he can't control him self, for example when his upset and angry and mixed with emotions he loses control and the emotions take over.
I grabbed his arms and sat him down again, wrapping my arm around his shoulder "just take a deep breath, try calming down, relax a bit. I'll admit you did say that people who sleep around like that aren't ready for serious relationships but that's the thing, you two aren't serious so how can you have a serious relationship if you can't even keep a straight face when someone says do do ?"
Riker laughed and wiped his cheek, I think his more in love with her then he can handle and his trying to fight it but his going to lose and sometimes losing doesn't just mean mentally, if his not careful or smart, we could all lose something.
"Dad I can't do with this breaking up and getting back together and breaking up, especially with the baby." Riker said, I looked at him laughing "Greg's not a baby."
"No, Lea's pregnant, only about two weeks now but no ones supposed to know because she doesn't want anyone's hopes to be up, I'm scared that this baby is going to screw things up even more, like I don't wanna sound like a dick but if it does go well, we're gonna be tired, we're gonna be irritable, we're going to argue and we both have bad tempers, me tired plus me irritable don't mix well." Riker said making me laugh.
What did I do to deserve such amazing, talented and funny kids, I don't know.
"You with any other you don't mix well, I've seen you tired, bored and hungry, look you're going to argue, me, your Mom, Gwen and Max have all had arguments, maybe it's a little harder for us to break up because we're married but there is only one rule for relationships, you just have to love each other. You argue ? You cool down and a couple hours later you talk about it. You get into a rough patch ? You get through it. Relationships are two way streets, don't do anything you wouldn't want her to do." I said making Riker nod.
"This baby thing ? I get it, you will get stressed out, you may argue a little but as long as you two stick by each other the rest will play out as good as anything and don't worry I won't tell anyone about the baby, but you won't be able to hide it for long especially considering the fact that it's her second pregnancy, the muscles are already stretched for the baby which means she'll show easily, so you know may be a slight problem." I said.
"How early we talking ?" Riker asked.
"Well your Mom showed at about 6 weeks with Rydel." I said making his mouth drop "she's two already ! That leaves a month."
"Not everyone's the same, but Gwen showed rather early now that I think about it. No one is going to kill you, we're going to find out sometime, this is exactly what causes arguments, guys tend to freak out a lot more during the pregnancies." I said rubbing his shoulder a bit calming him down.
"Can we go get pizza ? I'm hungry." Riker said shaking his head "Dad no !"
"Hi hungry, I'm Dad." I laughed chasing after him.
"The Dad jokes are so old now." Riker laughed as we walked back to the van.
"You can start using them now, with Greg and all, you have no idea how freaky it is looking at you two stood next to each other, when we were at the water park, you two were getting a drink and I had to blink a couple of times just making sure that he was a real person and I wasn't imagining you as you as a kid, I'm assuming that's what it feels like to be on drugs." I said getting in.
Riker laughed and looked at me with a raised eyebrow "weren't your teenage years the best years ever ? Like people always say the 80's-90's were the best years ?"
"Yeah we weren't on about drugs kiddo." I said smirking.
Riker laughed until he realised "I was born in the 90's, oh ! Dad ! Gross ! I did not need to know that."
"How do you think you got here ? Batman bring you ? No, you're here because of me.....well because of Vodka but that doesn't mean I don't love you any less." I smiled.
"So you admit I was a mistake ?" Riker asked.
I never said that but in a sense yes, however I won't tell him that to his face.
"You were a surprise, there's a difference." I said nodding my head.
"Yeah, it's a nicer way to say I was a mistake." Riker said making me sigh "would it make you feel better if I said you were a mistake ?"
"Yes, yes it would." Riker smirked crossing his arms, his wish is my command.
"You were a mistake." I said pulling up to the house.
"Mom, Dad said I was a mistake three times in a row !" Riker shouted pretending to be upset about it.
"You little son of a bitch." I said glaring at him.
"Hell yeah I am !" Riker said making Stormie laugh as she lightly slapped him around the face "crap I forgot the pizza."
