"So you're telling me, that because you feel Rose is wasting her life with you, you broke it off with her just like that?" Ryan's bewildered tone shrieked at me.

"Um, I mean, I guess. Yes?"

And then her hand collided with the side of my face, "Are you fucking insane?"

"Ow, Jesus Ryan."

"You Jesus, Tyler! Jesus isn't going to cure you from your intolerable, impulsive choice-making skills. Be glad I didn't murder you, right now and here," She turned to Josh with widespread arms, obviously hoping for some kind of input on the situation.

He stepped in, "I went to see her, Tyler. She's in some hotel, and she wouldn't leave the bed when I got there. It's been two days, and her suitcase wasn't even unpacked. She doesn't even want to go and stay with Mila, her own sister, or her cousin Vivian because she doesn't want to explain to them what happened. You have no idea what this is doing to her."

My mouth remained shut as Ryan continued on, "You gave her no explanation. No clue as to the fact that you were unhappy with her -"

"I was never unhappy with her, Ryan," I butted in, not wanting to hear that. They don't know and wouldn't understand the circumstances I'm under.

Ryan raised her voice once more, stepping closer to me, "So then what was it? All she's ever done was love you. Hell, she waited almost two years for your ass, and she was determined to get better, not only for herself, but for you.

She's supported you with everything and has never once said a word about how stressful your career could be on her. Rose cares about you, she - ugh, oh no. Come here, Tyler," Ryan and Josh engulfed me into a hug as my emotions finally let themselves show.

I hiccuped, and sobbed, and drenched Josh's t-shirt with my tears. "I know, buddy," Josh mumbled into my ear, rubbing my back soothingly.

I was sure he'd figured out why I had broken up with Rose. To him, it was something quite obvious, which was why I couldn't necessarily be upset with Ryan. She was only trying to defend her best friend, and everything she said was so completely right that it caused me to break down. This was still something I couldn't even believe I did, because Rose does mean so much to me that it was stupid for me to just give up and let her go.

However, I was still so powerless against him, and I had no idea how to make him stop, or disappear completely.

"Ryan could you give us a quick minute, babe?" Josh nodded towards her calmly.

She sighed, a hand running through her hair in exasperation as she emerged back into her room.

"Let's go outside, yeah?" He proposed, taking hold of my shoulder.

"Not to the front, please," I implored, stopping us in our tracks as I realized he'd been leading me to the front door.

I couldn't look at that area right at this moment. I don't think I could ever sit on that bench or look at that pillar again.

"That's fine, let's take you somewhere to try and relax, does that sound okay?" He was being incredibly gentle and patient. I locked eyes with him, still feeling the burn of tears in them as I made sure to show him I was alright with our little journey.

"Okay, let's get dressed and we'll head on our way in a half hour, unless your ass needs some extra time to get dolled up," He joked.

I cracked out a smile, allowing Josh to be effused for a slight moment, "I'll be ready."

A pat on the back signalled that it was time for us to depart, and head into our rooms. Was I actually up for this adventure? No, not at all. Could I use it? Most definitely.
