Chapter 5: The Zarcurus Express

The next few weeks flew by quickly for Barry and before he knew it, it was the night before the first day of term at Zarcurus. He was so excited, when he and Alec were packing their trunks. He had always looked forward to attending Zarcurus just like his whole family.

“Just think tomorrow after we board the train tomorrow morning we will be at Zarcurus,” he said as he and Alec finished packing their trunks.

“I know, it sounds wicked how everyone described it,” Alec said. You could hear the excitement in his voice and was just as excited at Barry was. After a few seconds of sitting quietly, Barry and Alec got ready for bed. Once dressed in their pyjamas both boys climbed into their beds and just sat there, before Barry turned off the light.

The next morning was sort of a rush. Barry and Alex had slept in and had to rush to get dressed and eat breakfast. Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Walter packed the back of their car with Barry, Alec, Ginny, Sam and Tims school trunks and then they all left for Charring Cross, where the train that would be travelling to Zarcurus would be. It took close to forty-five minutes away from London.

Right after getting there Mr. Walter went off and got carts for Barry, Alec, Ginny, Sam and Tim to put their trunks on. There was a good forty-five minutes left before the Zarcurus Express was due to leave but Barry and the Walter's still hurried. They stopped in a barrier in-between platforms nine and ten.

To get to the Zarcurus Express you had to go through the barrier between platforms nine and ten, or known as Platform Nine and Three-Quarters to the wizardry community. It was really simple all you had to do was get back few feet and start off towards the barrier with a run and go right though it.

First Barry went through then he was followed by Alec, Ginny, Sam, Tim and Mr. and Mrs. Walter. It wasn’t the first time that Barry had seen this, but he still had a look on his face as if he had everything in the world. He couldn’t believe he would finally be boarding the Zarcurus Express to go to Zarcurus.

Barry and the Walter's all walked along the train until they found an empty compartment and loaded Barry, Alec, and Ginny's things into it. Sam and Tim had spotted a friend of theirs in another compartment so they weren't going to share compartment with Barry, Alec ad Ginny.

After the trunks were secured tightly Barry, Alec, and Ginny got off the train to say their good-byes to Mr. and Mrs. Walter.

“Have a safe trip you lot,” Mrs. Walter said as she hugged the three. “We'd like to hear what house you get sorted into, even though we had a good idea which one it is.”

“I wish you three the best of luck,” Mr. Walter said to Barry, Alec and Ginny.

Mrs. Walter was about to say something when white mist appeared beside them and three body shapes appeared in the mist. The mist cleared away to reveal Tonks, Romulus and Amy. Barry had a smile on his face.

“You didn't think we would let you go off to Zarcurus without saying goodbye, would you?” Tonks asked as she took her cousin into a hug.

“Well no I suppose not,” Barry said Tonks released him.

“I remember how excited I was when I first stepped onto the train,” Amy said as she hugged Barry. “This is the beginning for the three of you.”

Barry smiled as Amy released him.

“Can I speak with you for a brief moment?” Romulus asked Barry. Barry nodded so Romulus pulled Barry off to the side, attracting stares from a few people. “I expect the best from you Barry. Your very smart and talented boy.”

“Thanks,” Barry said. He felt there was something else Romulus had pulled him off to the side to tell him and his suspicion had come true a few second later.

“Barry people at Zarcurus may treat you differently because of who your parents are and what they've done, and I want you to ignore them. Some may be friendly towards you but others may not. And choose your friends wisely, okay? Oh and also some may be friendly at first but my act differently then they should,”

“Okay, buy what-” he started to ask before he Romulus cut him off.

“The train is leaving in a few moments,” he said as the whistle on the train blew. “Now hurry along I don’t want you to miss the train.” Barry took Romulus' advised and hurried back to the train, getting a another hug from Mrs. Walter before he got on.

A few seconds after Barry had closed the compartment door the train started moving. He went over to the compartment window with Alec and Ginny and waved towards bye until the train turned a corner and they were out of sight.

Barry then sat down in one of the seats in the compartment and relaxed a little. This was the beginning of a new adventure for him and his friends.

He noticed his two friends eyeing him with curiosity in their eyes.

“I'll tell you two later,” Barry said as he looked out the window to see rain falling onto the surrounding trees.
