Chapter 11: The Nightmare

Two weeks had passed since the incident with Midler and his group of friends. Barry tried his best to ignore them, and he found out that it was harder than he thought. They were always making rude comments about people in other Houses.

It was Monday night and Barry was sitting along in the common room. It was about ten o'clock and he was just staring at the fire in the fireplace. He had a lot on his mind at the moment and he wanted to clear his mind, but he was tired so he got up and walked to the dormitory.

Alec, Corey, Peter and John were all asleep when he got in, so Barry closed the door quietly and changed into his pyjamas and climbed into bed. It wasn’t long before he was asleep.

Barry was standing in a large, rectangular, dimly lit room. In the middle of the room was a sunken shrine stone pit that looked twenty feet deep. Stone benches run all around the room and descend in steep steps toward a raised stone dais in the centre of the pit. An ancient, crumbling stone archway, unsupported by any surrounding wall, stands on this dais.

It took Barry a few seconds before he realized he wasn’t alone in the room. On the other side of the room was his parents and about fifteen feet away was some person he didn't recognise. The person was tall, handsome, with pale skin, jet black hair, and dark eyes.

Barry's parents both had their wands raised as did the man who stood across from them. Barry could hear them talking, but wasn’t quite sure what they were saying. He went to step closer when green spells started flying everywhere. Barry ducked one that was coming his way and sat back and watched his parents.

The duel only lasted a few minutes before two of them met mid-air and caused an explosion. When the smoke cleared away all that was there was the man. Barry's parents were gone. Barry stood there in terror and watched as the man picked up two wands that were on the floor.

Barry woke up with a jerk. He looked around the dormitory and saw his friends still sleeping. He looked outside and saw that it was around one or two in the morning. Barry laid back down and went back to sleep.

After Barry woke back up, he woke up his four friends Alec, Corey, Peter and John. They all dressed and headed down to the common room. Peter and John went down to the Great Hall instead of sitting in the common room with Barry, Alec and Corey.

“I forgot my charms homework in the dormitory, I’ll be back,” Corey said as he rushed back to the dormitory.

“You had your nightmare again,” Alec said.

“What?” Barry asked, pretending he didn't know what Alec was talking about, but he knew what Alec was talking about.

“I heard talking in your sleep. 'Mum, Dad no'. Barry it was just a nightmare, it wasn’t real,” Alec said.

“I know,” Barry said as Corey came back down from the dormitory. Barry looked towards the portrait hole and saw Sam and Tim coming through. They looked over their shoulders every few seconds.

“What are you guys up to?” Barry asked them as they got near.

“Nothing,” they both said in a voice that neither Barry nor Alec believed but they both blew it off as they headed to their dormitory. After Ginny, Alice and Adriana came down from their dormitory they headed own to the Great Hall and ate breakfast before heading to their Charms class.

Ardesco first years had Charms with Aristoteles and was taught by Professor Cork who was the Head of Aristoteles. He was tall, thin, had light brown hair and was very nice.

During Charms Barry and the rest f the class were practising the Wingardium Leviosa charm, which allows you to make objects floats. They had been practising the Wingardium Leviosa charm for the past few weeks. Adriana had been the first to master the spell.

“She's bloody brilliant!” Alec said to Barry when it happened.

“I know,” Barry said.

After Charms Barry and his friends all had Transfiguration. Transfiguration was taught by Professor Watson who was the Head of Ardesco. They had the lesson just with the first years from their own house. During Transfiguration Watson showed the class how to turn her desk into a pig. Everyone was amused by it even Barry although he had a lot on his mind.

The lesson ended by Watson turning her desk back to normal and dismissing them all to lunch.
