"I'm sorry, but we see no use in you for this shop, maybe you should volunteer to work on Jack's ship? He's looking for a crew" mister Smith tells me. I sigh sadly and nod, "thanks" I say before walking out. Another job that wouldn't take me. I have never been in so much need for money. I have tried to steal it, but always got caught. I have asked everywhere for work, but no one seems to find me useful. Like mister Smith said, maybe I should go out on the seas. That would get me money, and adventures. I walk to the ships and see one very familiar one. Everyone knows the name...
The Black Pearl
I see a line of people standing in front of a table with a man behind it. He has a small grey beard and a bottle of rum next to him, which he sips from every now and then. And behind him, stands Captain Jack Sparrow, looking at his compass. I stand in line and see some men looking at me and whispering things to each other. 'What, never seen a woman on the sea before?' I think to myself. I see Jack turn around every now and then to see if the person may join the crew yes or no. And then finally, it's my turn. "Mister Gibbs..." Captain Sparrow says, "what is she doing here?" He asks, looking at me with a blank face. I gulp nervous. "Are you lost, m'lady?" The man with the small grey beard named Gibbs asks. I shake my head, "no...I want to join the crew" I tell them. Jack and mister Gibbs look at each other before starting to laugh. I roll my eyes in annoyance. "A woman on the ship?" One of the pirates standing in line says. He wears a big black hat and has a wooden leg. The captain narrows his eyes at me, "and what would you want to do on my ship, love?" He asks, scanning my body. I shrug, "Clean...?" I ask. Mister Gibbs chuckles, "oh good, for a second there I thought ye wanted to fight!" He says, laughing again. He looks up at Jack Sparrow, but Jack isn't laughing with him. He just looks blankly at me. "Can you fight?" He asks me. "Jack, are ye really considering this?" The man with the wooden leg says. Captain Jack looks down at the paper again, and back at me without moving his head. "Cleaning you say..?" He says before slightly bending over the table, having his hands up, next to his shoulders before reaching his hand out to me, "welcome to the crew, miss" I shake his hand with a smile. "Captain, are you feeling alright?" Mister Gibbs asks. "No questions asked, mister Gibbs! We have a crew, and a cleaner, that's all we need! Let's go!" He walks in a silly way onto his ship. "But can't I tell my family that I'm leaving? Don't I need to grab some clothes for the trip?" They all look at me and start to laugh. I sigh softly and walk onto The Black Pearl.
Mister Gibbs walks up to me, "m'lad, you need to grab the rum, and hurry, we're leavin' soon" he commands. "Where is it?" I ask. He points at the chest on the beginning of the plank that leads into the ship. I quickly walk out of the ship and struggle to lift it up. Some of the pirates snicker while watching me try to lift lift it up. I sigh irritated, straighten my back, and lift up the wooden chest with bottles of rum. I grin cocky at them and walk onto the ship, sticking my nose higher in the air. "Where do I put the chest, mister...?" I ask the name of the grey bearded man who is looking at me with his eyes widened. He gulps, "Gibbs...Joshamee Gibbs...put the chest over there" he points at a spot next to some other chests. I nod once and quickly walk over to it, barely able to hold the chest much longer. I quickly put the chest own with a loud bang. "Hey there, puppet" I hear a raspy voice behind me. I quickly stand up and turn around to see two men standing in front of me. They both scan my body up and down, "are you lost?" The smaller one asks with an evil grin. "Who are you?" I ask, looking at them both. The taller one gently takes my hand, "Ragetti, miss" he answers, wanting to kiss my hand, but I quickly pull it back and wipe it off my dress. The other one bows his head, "Pintel" he simply says. "What do you want?" I ask them blankly. "Could you step aside, princess...? You're standing in front of my rum" Another raspy voice says. I look beside me and see that man with the wooden leg again, now having a monkey on his shoulder. I gulp and step aside, "welcome," he grabs a bottle of rum, having long yellow nails, "to the ship, m'lady" he says before pulling the cork out of the bottle with his teeth and chugging some rum down. "What's ye name, missy?" He asks. "(Y/N)" I simply answer. "Barbossa....Hector Barbossa" he flashes a grin, showing his dirty, yellow teeth before chugging the rum and walking away. I look back at Pintel and Ragetti, who can't keep their eyes off of me. My head shoots to the two doors who are being slammed open, revealing the captain of the ship, captain Jack Sparrow. He looks around, as if searching for someone or something. He tips his fingers on his chin, stroking the two small braids that he has in his beard, "where's my rum" he finally says, his dreadlocks swinging from left to right as he scans the desk. His gaze eventually stops at me. "You, cleaner" he walks up to me in his silly way of walking. "Yes, captain?" I reply. "Where is my rum?" He asks. I point at the chest that I just put down. "Ahh!" He says before grabbing a bottle, before standing up again and looking down at my body. He looks up at my eyes again. I glance down to my clothes, "what?" I look at him. He doesn't answer and turns around, "you two, get the wench some descent clothes" he commands before walking up to the wooden steering wheel, "gentlemen!!" He yells to get everyone's attention. Everyone stops with what they're doing and looks at the captain. "All hands a' deck! Raise the anchor! Set sails!" He commands. The crowd cheers, "aye aye, captain!", and does everything to make the ship take off and sail onto the sea.
