He growls softly and walks towards me in a fast pace. I slowly back up, "Dark, you're scaring m-" He cuts me off by pinning me against the wall. I feel the warmth of the torch to the side of my head. I yelp softly from bumping so hard against the wall. "I told you NOT to go here! You don't have to know what's in here! What did you see!?!" He growls, his hair still being wet from walking through the rain. I hold the small box behind my back, "Nothing! I just got lost! Was I supposed to find something?" I ask him. He glares at me for a moment, trying to make out if I'm lying or not, "No...nothing you need to know about" He says before staring to walk away. I jog up to him and walk with him towards the entrance. "Why did you have to go here, (Y/N)...why can't you ever listen to me" He mumbles. I sigh annoyed, "Because I want to know what's going on!" I push his shoulder back, making him stop walking. "people said I am a key to the treasure on this island. But I haven't seen a treasure or anything!" I tell him. Dark looks at me, lowering his torch slightly. "There is a treasure....with a box that only you can take without being killed. I only must guard it...." He explains. "Then why won't you let me take it?" I ask curious, taking the box a little tighter in my hand behind my back. "Because in that box is something that you shouldn't carry with you...you don't know how to use it, and what for" He says before starting to walk again. I quickly follow him while thinking about what could possibly be in the box.

We sit at the campfire together. We've been sitting here for a while, and haven't spoken a word. I know a little bit more about the treasure, but there is still a question that I need to ask. If we are something yes or no. I glance up at Dark and he notices my movement, so he looks back at me, "what" He says blankly. I could ask him here and now. But he seems in a bad mood, so maybe I should ask him tomorrow when we're outside, working on new meals or something. I look back down at the fire, "nothing..." I say before laying down on my side, on the other side of the fire, so that I can't see Dark's face, "goodnight" I say softly, but I get no answer. Good thing that I didn't ask him.

Next morning

I wake up earlier than Dark. He's sleeping next to the fireplace, with his back towards me. I stand up, and quietly walk up the stairs, outside. Everything is still wet from the storm yesterday, but that means that the berries are clean and they carry more water, which is good. I first go to a place, out of sight where Dark won't find me that easily. I still feel the box in my back pocket, and sit down between some trees, under the big leaves I was hiding before. I take a deep breath, and open the box. Inside it is a beautiful ring, with a diamond on it. I tilt it from side to side, letting it shine its many colors because of the sun, "wow..." I whisper to myself. I put the ring on, "This is the treasure...?" I mumble to myself, "a ring...?" I look at it, "It's beautiful though..." I close the box and stand up, walking back towards the cave.

I walk to the place where we keep our food, but realize I need a bowl. I walk towards the place where I put my hammock, but I can't find it anywhere. "huh..? But it was right here..." I mumble to myself before I notice the strings around the trees. I cover my mouth with both hands as I walk towards the trees where my self-made hammock was. It's gone. The storm ripped it off. I trail my fingers along the ripped pieces that still are wrapped around the tree. "I'm sorry that that happened, blood-scratch..." I hear Dark's smooth voice behind me. I turn around and smile sadly. I sigh, "It's...fine" I say hesitantly, realizing I still wear the ring, so I decide to put my hands in my pockets, holding the small box in my hand tightly. "Come on, it's a nice day, let's have breakfast on the beach" Dark proposes. I nod, and take the bowl from the ground with the hand that doesn't have the ring on it, "Sounds great" I follow him to get breakfast. I'm glad that Dark isn't still angry at me because of yesterday. "did you sleep well?" I ask him. He looks into my eyes. Dark nods, "yea! I did!" He says, but his eyes start to glow red after. I narrow my eyes at him. "he breathes a chuckle at me, "What are you doing?" He asks. The red glow fades again, and I shake my head, "never mind" I say.

We sit on the beach together looking out onto the sea. "I wanna show you something today. Get some answers out there, and explain some things to you..." Dark suddenly says. I nod, "That sounds good, thank you" I answer with a sweet smile, not looking at him. 'Speaking of answers...' The question pops in my head again, and I decide to just ask Dark already, "Hey, Darky..?" I ask playfully. He looks at me, "Hm?" he asks. I sigh softly, "Are we something?" I ask shyly. "What do you mean?" -- "I mean...are we a couple?" I ask again. Dark wants to answer, slowly turning his head towards the sea, "well-" He cuts himself off. I watch Dark quickly stand up. I follow his gaze, onto the water and I see a very familiar ship approaching the island. I narrow my eyes, "What ship is that?" I ask softly. "It's the Pearl" Dark simply mumbles before turning around and walking off the beach, towards the cave. "What's wrong?" I ask, quickly following him. "They're coming for you" he says, grabbing two torches, lighting them on fire and handing me one. "Are you going to protect me?" I ask. Dark looks into my eyes, and he nods, "Of course, blood-scratch" he says with a smile before his eyes start to glow red again. "Dark, your eyes!" I say. "what?" He says before grabbing my wrist and pulling me further into the cave. "They were glowing red! What did that mean?" I ask. Dark stops walking, and looks at me with wide eyes. He yanks my hand up, looking at it. 'the ring...' I think to myself. "Give me your other hand!" He commands, growling softly. I put the torch in my other hand, and Dark grabs it tightly, "LIAR!!" he growls loudly, "You WERE at the treasure! You found it!" He says, pushing me against the wall. I groan in pain, "Dark! Don't hurt me! We have to work together! Just explain what it means! The red glow!" I beg him. Dark looks at me for a moment, making the moment a little awkward, "It means that I'm lying" I hear his voice say, but his mouth doesn't open. My eyes widen, "what the-" I look down at my hand, at the ring that is still shining in the light of the fire. "You can read thoughts with it. And if my eyes start to glow red, it means I'm lying" he explains, now actually talking. I gulp, "wow..." I whisper to myself.

"come on, this way" Dark says. "In here?" I ask, walking into another direction. He quickly wraps his arm around my waist from behind, "NO!!" He yells. I gasp softly, feeling my feet come from the ground for a moment. He presses me against his chest, "Not in there...it'll become your death" he says. I gulp, "So...I could've died when I went in here earlier?" I ask him, my voice slightly shaking. Dark nods, "yes, Blood-scratch" he answers. I glance over my shoulder up at him, and glance at his lips while I slowly bring my face to his. Our lips almost touch, but then, he walks on, "we gotta go..."

We quickly walk on, to the treasure room, "guess I don't have to show you the room anymore, you already saw it" I nod in response. We sit down at the foot of a stack of golden coins and jewelry. Dark takes my hands in his, "(Y/N)...promise me something..." He says, a little hint of worry in his voice. "what happened to the name Blood-scratch?" I ask jokingly, chuckling a little. Dark breathes a chuckle, "This is serious...." he says. I nod, "right...excuse me" I answer. "Everyone who tried to get to that ring died immediately. Many, many pirates are looking for it...including Warfstache and Sparrow" He says, trailing his thumb in circles over my hand. I gulp and nod, understanding him. "They will try to...get to you...especially because you're a woman, they will think you're weak...and easy target" Dark explains. I shake my head, "but I'm not!!" I tell him. He smiles at me, "I know you're not, blood-scratch...you're a strong woman, and you became even stronger with the time you were with me on this island" Dark cups my cheek. I gently wrap my hand around his writs, "wait...are you saying goodbye to me?" I ask, my voice starting to shake slightly. Dark shakes his head, "no..." he whispers, but then his eyes start to glow red. I whimper softly, wanting to cry. Dark slowly leans in, wanting to kiss me, but then,

"IN HERE!!!!"
