Allison's P.O.V

Ashlie and I stood there, in silence, with our jaws practically lying on the ground.

"Hannah? What? How?" Ashlie stuttered, breaking the silence.

Hannah didn't say anything but slowly stepped into the house with a devious smirk on her face.

"Hello ladies. It's time about time we've met again. I have missed you both dearly." Hannah said as the smirk grew wider.

"Hannah.. Where have you been?! Your mom is worried sick about you! She thinks you're dead!" I exclaimed.

"My...mom..?" Hannah's words came out slowly and the smirk starting to fade.

"Yes, your mother. She ran into me at Krispy Kreme. Something about four months ago? She asked to come over and asked anything I knew what could've happened." I explained.

Whatever plan Hannah had made seemed to go down the drain right now as she sat down on the couch and stared forward into nothing.

"My mom died when I was 4. I remember the day perfectly." She stated.

"That's impossible. I talked to her." I said.

"It's not impossible. I saw it with my very own, young, eyes." Hannah said as she started to slink down into the couch.

I knew this wasn't any time for talking but long lost Hannah seemed to be in another world right now and I didn't quite know what to say. I just watched her slink down farther and farther into the cushion.

"You have explaining to do." Ashlie said as she crossed her arms and didn't seem to care about the state Hannah was in.

"I don't have to explain anything. I'm here by choice." Hannah said angrily standing up. "If I really wanted to I could go die again."

"Hannah, please no." I said grabbing her arm and trying to stop her from leaving.

I couldn't stop her. She just slung her shoulder forward forcing me to let go.

"We have to tell the police." I said to Ashlie as I started out the door. "Let's go."

I sat in a chair at the police chief's desk, bouncing my leg anxiously.

"Hello, ladies." The officer said very politely.

He had a large stack of papers which he straightened, then sat on his desk. He sat down in his big chair, facing us. His name badge read 'J. Torrell'

"Alright, so what do you know?" Chief Torrell said as he entwined his fingers and put his elbows on the desk.

Ashlie's P.O.V.

This guy looks way to familar. I recognize him from somewhere, I just don't know where.

"Hannah Vasquez is alive." I heard Allison say.

This turned my attention quickly towards her. My eyes widened when what we were doing finally set in.

"This case turned up unknown and got closed many months ago. Why are you now bringing this information to me?" Chief Torrell said.

I didn't say anything, I looked around trying to remember my surroundings. I noticed a flashing red light in the corner of the room. Everything we said was being video taped. I could hear Allison continuing on with the story while I have yet to say anything. I stared blankly at the chief still trying to figure out where I know him from.

Finally, it clicked. My dream, I know him from my dream. He's the officer that dragged me into the back of the police car.

I started to shake uncontrollably. My dream was turning into reality and I was meeting the people that made it terrible.

This, this still all felt like a big dream. Almost llike I am going to wake up at any moment, but at the same time I know I'm not.

It's almost like you're just dragging behind yourself. Like your body is limp and numb. Like you're moving, but not going anywhere.

That's how my whole life feels now. This mystery is going on forever, we aren't getting anywhere with it, until now, now this is the decision we have made. There's no going back after we're done here.

"Ashlie?" I woke up from my daydream to.

"Yeah?"

"Time to go." Allison said as she slowly pulled herself out of the chair with a straight look on her face.

I followed her, as I too, pulled myself out of the chair.

It's done.

Hannah's P.O.V

"Caitlin, you have to help me." I begged.

"Not this time, Hannah. I told you I'm done!"

"Caitlin, this is serious now; It's not about Allison or Ashlie. This is about my mother."

"I thought she-"

"So did I. But somehow she came back or never left."

"What do you need?" Caitlin budged.

*****

Caitlin and I stood on the porch at the front door of the house I once lived in.

It had been a long time since I've been here, almost so long that this house is just a blurry picture in my head.

I took a deep breath, nervously brought my arm up and knocked hard on the wooden door.

I could hear someone's footsteps walking down stairs gradually making their way to the door.

The door swung open, revealing my mother's now old face.

Her eyes met mine, and she started to slam the door shut.

I caught the door and swung it back open. I took a step into the house leaving Caitlin watching all of this, and swung my arms around her.

I knew that she was shocked. She slowly lifted up her arms to put around me.

The moment I felt her touch on my back, tears rolled down my face.

"I love you, mom." I whispered to her.

"I love you too, Hannah." She whispered back which only made me cry more.

Allison's P.O.V

"Did that actually just happen?" Ashlie asked me as she sat down in the passenger seat of my car.

"It did. Are you alright?"

"Yes, better than ever." She smiled.

"At least now we know that we can live peacefully knowing we didn't accidentally take a life, and Hannah can be safely found."

"At least." Ashlie smiled again.

Author's Note:

I have decided this book will only have 3 chapters left, and an epilogue.

I apologize for the huge amount of time it took for this chapter which isn't even very long. Things have been crazy for a while and finding time is almost impossible.
