Mwahaha I finally found it! >:] This is one of my favorite pieces that I wrote, seventh grade English in response to Lord of the Flies. Though I've really never associated it that much with the book. It was originally color coded, but you can't get that here I suppose. Well, enjoy -Devious_little_Devil
Persephone's Garden: First Draft
Black.
A bad apple.
Unripe fruits
that hang
from the
twisted limbs of trees.
Tantalizing,
yet dangerous.
One bite,
only one,
will leave you in pain,
and trap you forever.
Corruption leaps
from plant to plant.
The weak will die.
The strong will survive.
"Only me! Only me!"
Cries the truth of a mans being.
Black, twisted anger
consumes everything,
until the vulnerable core is exposed.
Then the seeds will drop
and grow into a new day.
A new hope.
A new,
fruit.
