Chapter 16. Acceptance

Luke's POV:

Coco had given me a mind link telling me to come quick. Whenever she said urgent, she meant urgent. I'm almost there, I'm running by foot and I'm out of puff. I don't care I will get there as soon as I can. I'm coming into view, I can't see much. I came out into the clearing to see everyone.
""I'm here, wait! WHATS WRONG WITH HAZEL! WHY'S A ROUGE HERE!! BABE WHATS GOING ON!" I said my voice booming at the end.
"I can explain." Coco said
I glared at the Rouge and was about to interrogate him but Coco stood in front of him.
"Why are you defending him? He's a Rouge. Whys he here?" I said
"Kaden tried to kill him and Hazel he tried to save her but she saved him." She said
"Okay. Let's go to the infirmary." I said trying to contain my worry and fury.

When we got to the infirmary we watched the nurses monitoring her. Something is up with the Rouge, he seems to care for Hazel. I will and am planning to find out why and how he cares.

Hazels POV:

All I can see it black. An everlasting void. I'm sure that sometime I'll wake up. Somehow. I can remember somethings. Not everything though. It's frightening that I don't know what's going on while I'm out. It's like I can hear my thoughts and see nothing. I hope Percy is safe, I wouldn't mind dying for him.

Percy's POV:

We are in the infirmary now, we are watching some healers with Hazel. Her parents are outside talking to each other, shouting is more of the term. The healers are giving her some medicine and a few other things, they've cleaned the wound and if it was a werewolf that was stabbed they would be long gone. It seems that because she is a wolf shifter she is stronger and can cope with the wound, the effects are horrible and she might be in pain but I know she will get through it. We will get through it. Together.

Luke's POV:

"That Rouge saved our daughter!" She screamed at me
"Why! Why did he save her! Why does he care!" I said shouting back at her
"I can't tell you!" She said quietening down
"Why, is it something bad?" I said quietly
"No, it's something good and unexpected but Hazel made me promise." She said
"Tell me, I won't freak out." I said
"Okay." She said giving up
I smiled at her as I am finally going to know the truth.
"That Rouge is Percy, he is Hazels mate. He is the son of Alpha River. River tried to kill him and killed everyone else in his pack, his brother is Matt." She said as I growled interrupting her.
"As I was saying, Percy hates Matt and his father, Henry River, that's alpha River, trained his wolf brutally so he would retaliate. He has no control but with Hazel he gets control over himself. Kaden is part of the scheme and wants to be heir to be Rivers Alpha. He was going to bring Percy to Henry but then decided to kill him instead. He tried to kill Hazel in the process. Percy prevented this but he caught Percy, then went to kill him with a special blade but Nazel jumped in front of him and saved him, she also killed Kaden." She said
"Okay, so Percy is Hazel's mate and they love each other. They want to be together and he wants control over his wolf." I said verifying
"Yes." She agreed
I hugged her and smiled. My daughter has a mate, a strong boy who would risk his life for her.
"I see why you didn't tell me. I'm sorry for yelling at you." I said
"I'm sorry for screaming too." She said
"Come on, let's go see Percy." I said
Her face lit up with respect and happiness. I accept him, I might even invite him to join the pack. I will protect him and my daughter from those monsters.
