Chapter 32. A Stupid Idea

Hazel's POV:

It's been almost forever since I had started getting ready. I'm midway through yet another episode of whatever Violet is watching, I don't even know anymore. She hadn't noticed my lack of attention on the third episode, now it's the seventh. I groaned again and looked out the window.

I double checked that I had everything that I would need. I slipped a jacket on my shoulders and my boots on my feet. As I started tying them I glanced over at Violet.
"Vi, are you ready?" I asked
"Uh huh, that's nice." She said as she continued gazing at whoever was on the screen.
I shook my head and sat on the bed, I don't know the time but I'm sure that we have plenty left. My eyes closed as I slowly started falling asleep.

"How can someone look like that?" A voice said waking me up
"Uh, wait what?!" I said waking up
"You drool in your sleep, right there." She said giggling and pointing at my cheek.
"Shut up." I muttered as I got off the bed and grabbed my bag.
"Someone else in on Netflix." She said as I started laughing
"Wait. What's the time?" I asked worried
"Uhhhh, you don't want to know." She said checking as her eyes bulged
"VIOLET." I said almost shouting
"It's nine twenty seven. We have to be there for half past." She said
"WE HAVE TO BE THERE IN THREE MINUTES. ITS ALMOST TWO MILES AWAY." I screamed
"Well, we have two minutes now." She stated
"UGH. COME ONNN!" I said as I pulled her out of the room
"Slow down!" She said laughing
I practically pushed her down the stairs as she fell. I walked down after her and opened the door.
"Follow me. Try keep up." I said growling
"Kay." She said smiling
I ran out and shifted watched as everything was enhanced. I started running, running towards the waterfall. I turned to see a wolf on my tail.
Come on, how fast can you go? Okay I'm coming, I can go pretty fast. Try keep up then. Wait don't even. I started running full out feeling my wings pick up. Suddenly I was off the ground and I could see the waterfall in the distance.

By the time we reached the waterfall Pete and Percy stood at the top in trunks. Holy.. not listening. I climbed up to the top and suddenly was engulfed in a hug. The scent of barbecue hit me as Percy pointed to where Pete was. Pete was standing behind it putting food on and smiling. I could see Violet staring at him.
"I think we've lost her." Percy said in my ear
"I think we have." I said smiling
"Come on, let's go in the water." He said leading me towards the water
"Give me a moment then." I said

A few minutes later I had my bag and everything else by a tree. Percy grasped my hand gently and we walked over to the top of the waterfall. Violet and Pete gave us the thumbs up. I overlooked the waterfall and saw the pool beneath. I looked at him only to make eye contact. As we smiled I knew that this was a very stupid idea.
"Let's do it." Those three words made everything count
We took a few steps backwards before running forward. Suddenly the ground beneath me wasn't there anymore. As if everything froze for a moment whilst we were in the air. It was as if this moment could last forever, but of course it doesn't. Soon enough we were getting closer and closer to the water and before I knew it I was down under. Percy had hold of my hand underwater and smiled at me. I smiled back and he gently pulled me up to the surface. When we surfaced I gulped down air as if I hadn't before. When he saw me he smiled and lifted me up onto his shoulders. When we got out we fetched some towels and he wrapped them around my shoulders. Pete lifted Violet up onto his shoulders and as I wrapped my arms around Percy's neck I smiled. Violet took out her phone and we gathered together. I smiled for the photo and a second before she took the photo Percy gently placed his lips against mine. 

The worst ideas lead to the greatest memories.
