Chapter 27. An Angel

Hazel's POV:

Chloe took over faster than ever before. I felt a growl rise from my throat as I grabbed the knife from Matt and tackled him down. Plunging the knife into him was a bit over the top but Chloe never goes halfway. I then turned behind me and put my hands onto Percy's chest.
"Promise me, be good angel." He muttered before I saw that he stopped breathing.
I screamed out which stopped everyone fighting. People crowded around and this pain was unbearable. I felt like I was being broken inside. I held his hands in my own and kissed him gently. No he is not leaving me. I sobbed as I kept hold of his hands. My tears landed onto his body but I didn't notice. Some pack members were weeping but then silence overcame everyone. They stared at me. I looked at Mom and Dad and they looked at me the same way.
"Your eyes..."Mom said before trailing off
"It's true." A healer said
I turned back to Percy to see my tears dissolving and hissing as they evaporated. Colour came back to his cheeks and his eyes opened. A ring of green was around his usual brown eyes. Chloe took over again and started to shift, in response Percy looked at me with worry. I then felt warmth spread across my shoulders as I shifted. Everyone stared as I stood up. Something was different. The change never felt this way before. I approached a pool of water on the ground to see my usual brown wolf with greener eyes but with something that's impossible. A pair of brown wings flapped gently by my sides.

I stood stunned as a voice of comfort filled my head. Everything will be okay. Just relax. I breathed out and suddenly all the people that had fallen down during the fight rose up. You did that, we did that. We can help people. I smiled as best as I could and looked at Percy.
"I guess you really are an angel. You can fly to the heavens and above." He said smiling
I nuzzled against his arm gently as he stroked my fur. He touched my wings gently and I tried to edge him on. I tried to shove him on and he looked at me and the world stopped. Are you sure about this. Yes already get on. He then chuckled and swung his leg over. Okay so how do we work this thing. Move your shoulders gently. The pack stood back as they watched, whispering among themselves. I moved my shoulders slightly to find more muscles that I never noticed before. In response my wings floated up and down. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Oh yeah. I smiled to myself as I prepared. I pushed down using some strength to find that I floated.
"Hazel." Percy said as I looked up sheepishly
"I know what your thinking and the answer is no." He said as he held on tighter
I paid no attention as Chloe helped me shift my wings using all the strength we had into one push off of the ground. I kept moving them as I seemed to get closer to the clouds every second passing.
"Angel, you are something else you know that?" He said as he stroked my fur
It'll get easier you know. Soon we will have stronger wings and powers. We can help everyone. Really? Yes and you will rule as the strongest Alpha with Percy by your side. Thanks Chlo. I gently moved through the clouds as Percy had his hands out, touching the clouds and the sky.

Percy's POV:

I don't know how she did it, but somehow she did. When I woke up from the brink of death Ryan gave me full control. It was as if I had gained all the strength I needed. Now I'm soaring through the sky with my angel. She's something else. I can literally feel the clouds, disappearing at my touch. I gently stroked Hazel as I looked at the view. Soon when we are leading this pack, we will be unstoppable. Side by side we will rule together.
