Alec had a lot of pent up frustration. He had gone to Magnus yesterday and convinced the warlock to help him track Jace through their parabatai rune. They had begun the process when suddenly, Alec could feel Jace. He was back on land.
But when he went to find his parabatai, all he found was Clary and her mother. And then he couldn't feel Jace anymore. Then Clary revealed that both Andy and Jace were there, but Jocelyn tried to kill Jace, and they left.
Each and every detail of the events of the past two days fueled a hit to the punching bag in front of him. He faintly realized that he was panting and sweating, but he didn't care. He was too lost in his own mind, clouded judgement igniting rage.
"Alec, are you okay?" The shrill voice that interrupted him briefly only incited more aggression.
"Pretty bold of you to show your face here," he seethed, glaring at Clary as the girl approached.
"I can explain," she started, but Alec interrupted her.
"Unless your explanation can bring Jace back, save it."
Clary frowned as he went back to landing blows on the punching bag. "Alec, Jace is my brother, too."
The man scoffed and stopped again, straightening himself up to tower over her. "You don't even know him. I grew up with him. I fought by his side. He's my brother, he's my best friend."
"Alec, I want Jace and Andy back as much as you do. I-I am not my mother."
Alec grimaced. "How well do I even know you? I mean, you show up out of no where, you convince my brother, you convince me, to search for your mother. And the next thing I know, Jace is gone. And your mother is trying to kill him."
"I had nothing to do with that, Alec. I would never hurt Jace," she tried to close the space between them, but he backed away.
He shook his head. "Ever since you arrived you've caused nothing but problems. My family lost their birth right, Isabelle was almost de-runed! And now Valentine has my parabatai and my best friend. And it's all because of you. I don't know what Andy or Jace ever saw in you that was worth saving."
"Alec," Isabelle breathed. Alec didn't even glance over to his sister, who hung in the doorway to the training room.
Clary's eyes were glossy and red, but Alec felt like that was the least he could do to return the pain she had caused them. "Sorry," she whispered.
"Alec, this isn't her fault," Izzy insisted, joining them.
"When are you going to realize that you don't belong here?" Alec asked Clary, ignoring Izzy. "You never have."
He didn't see himself being able to return to training now that his sister had involved herself, so he left to go change. Izzy called after him, but he ignored her. He hoped he never saw Clary Fairchild's face again.

"Go speak with your brother?" The question coming from Valentine caught Andina off guard. She knew it was probably rhetorical, so she sighed and stopped runing the seraph blade she had in her possession.
"About?" She asked, adjusting her jacket. The wind sweeping over the water and across the deck of the ship was frigid, reducing the heat of the summer sun high in the sky.
Her father smiled. "He's having some doubts. And he's spreading those doubts to some of our new recruits."
Andy didn't let it show, but she became anxious at the image of her trying to talk Jace onto Valentine's side. She swallowed. "Sure. Where is he?"
