Andy was feeling pretty numb as she sat by the bar, stirring the clear straw in her water glass. She had cut herself off at the end of Maia's shift, purely because the werewolf insisted she would be too worried to attend her date if Andy kept downing vodka sodas. The werewolf was also correct in assuming that after four hours, the Shadowhunter was reaching her limit.

Andy found herself enamored by the way the lights shone off of the stacks of clean glasses and alcohol bottles. The movement in the room was buzzing like the agitating thoughts in the back of her head.

She was thinking about Magnus and his sparkling eyes. And Alec, who she still hadn't had a chance to really talk to since she was freed from the City of Bones. Her mind also wandered to what she had wanted to talk to Magnus about earlier when he insisted they speak when they were sober. A smirk played on her lips as her heart raced just a little, replaying the memory of the two kissing the other evening. She was confused by her feelings on the situation, but she truly just wanted Alec to be happy, and she wanted Magnus to know that. She took a sip from her straw and enjoyed the momentary chill in her chest.

She was caught off guard when she felt a hand on her elbow, pulling her out of the bar stool faster than she could keep up with. She shook her head as she got to her feet, glancing up to see who was dragging her. Luke Garroway stood in front of her, waiting for her to gather herself.

"What the hell?" She asked him before noticing her brother stood next to him grouchily. It reminded Andy of him as a child, pouting because he couldn't get the upper hand while training with her.

The werewolf-cop pulled both siblings behind him as he left the bar. The sudden silence of the street disoriented Andy for a moment and the constant pushing didn't help. "Clary's in trouble," Jace told his sister, watching the werewolf closely. "Care to explain?" He directed towards Luke.

The words struck an unexpected fear into her heart. "Wait, what did she do?" Andy muttered, noticing that Luke was leading them to a police vehicle.

Thunder rumbled above and lightning lit up a dark sky. It confused her even more. She didn't think it was late enough in the evening for the sun to have gone down. She hadn't been at the bar that long. "There's no time to explain," he said as he released his grip on her elbow and unlocked the car, heading towards the driver's seat. "We gotta go."

Andy and Jace shuffled into the vehicle, barely having the doors closed before Luke was speeding off. Jace and Luke bickered back and forth while the former tried to figure out exactly what was going on. That was when Andy's drunken mind finally made the connection, watching a bolt of lightning pierce the sky.

"Fuck," she muttered, reaching forward to hit Jace's arm from where he sat in the passenger seat. He turned back to her, annoyed, but she had succeeded in getting his attention. "Valentine has the Mortal Sword, which gets activated by lightning."

Luke met her eyes in the rear view and nodded. "And Clary's somehow gotten herself wrapped into it all."

"Well what are you waiting for? The storms already here." Understanding her underlying meaning, he sped up the vehicle. Soon, the tires were screeching as they braked hard and fast in front of a tall stone building.

As soon as the vehicle was still, Jace and Andy leaped out of the car. They spotted Clary racing out of an alley with another Shadowhunter on her tail. Luke hurried forward and drew his gun, pointing it towards the dark-haired woman.

"Cleo, you hurt her, I'll drop you where you stand," Luke warned.

"Wait, no!" Clary quickly jumped in front of the woman. Andy furrowed her brow, convinced that her sister was insane as Jace yelled at her to get out of the way. "Luke, don't!" Clary begged him, staring down the barrel of his gun. "We need her."
