I knocked hard on the door. Impatiently, I stood there, eyes constantly scanning the streets.
"You know, love," Jack said, to me.
"Shut up," I ordered, poking him hard in the back.
Something about this pirate unsettled me. He wasn't like anybody else. I got the feeling if I relaxed even slightly, he would take advantage of me and escape. That was why I had tightly blindfolded him and put a sack over his head. I wasn't taking any chances.
I heard footsteps, and the door slowly creaked open a crack. "Is that you, Ice Queen?"
"It's me, Sam," I replied. "Let me in."
Sam opened the door wide and I stepped in.
"Who's that?" demanded Sam.
I grinned. "Now, Sammy, you know better than to ask, don't you?"
"I do believe it's Jack Sparrow!"
"Captain," came a muffled, but insistent voice from within the sack.
"Keep quiet. Sam, is he here?"
"Yes. Up stairs. You know where to go."
I bounded up the stairs, hauling Jack up with me. I came to a familiar door, one I had passed through many times before. I knocked respectfully, and heard a voice I knew well say: "Come in!"
I came in. "James, I need your help."
He raised an eyebrow. "Again?"
"Again."
"You're supposed to be the best, Ice Queen."
"I am the best. I've got Sparrow, haven't I?" I ripped the sack off his head and shoved Sparrow roughly to his knees. I watched as astonishment flickered in his eyes when he saw James. "Wait a moment, you two know each other?" I gasped.
"Of course we do," James said, grinning, rather evilly, I thought. "The situation is very different now, compared to when we last met, is it not, Sparrow?"
"Well, James Norrington..." began Sparrow, but I interrupted:
"If you don't mind, you can relive old times later. Right now, I need a fast ship and a crew that won't ask too many questions. Can you help me out or not, James?"
