"You want him?" I snarled. "You can have him!"
I was on board The Black Pearl, standing in front of a tall man, with a huge hat and a monkey on his shoulder, who was staring at me. "I know ye, don't I?"
"I don't think so," I replied. "Do you want Sparrow, or not?"
"What will ye be wantin' in return?"
I thought quickly. "What have you got?"
He smiled evilly and threw me something. I caught it. "A compass?"
"A special compass. One that points to whatever ye want most."
I didn't believe him for a moment, but it didn't matter. "I deem it a fair trade. Johnson, bring Sparrow forward."
They brought Taylor, his head still covered by the sack. I grinned at my own deviousness. "Here you go." I shoved Taylor at the tall man with the monkey. "Let's go!" I yelled, as I walked back on board my own ship.
The crew quickly cast off. I found myself turning round to stare again at that pirate with the monkey. Had I seen him before? He seemed so... familar.I shrugged, and turned away. It didn't matter, anyway. I walked down to the brig to check on Sparrow. "Alright, boys, you can go," I said to the guards.
"Very good, Captain."
"So, Sparrow," I said, looking at him through the bars.
"What's your name?" he asked.
"The Ice Queen," I replied.
"No, your real name."
I frowned. "I don't give my real name to anybody. Least of all to a filthy pirate."
"They're going to hang me," he shrugged. "Can't see it would do any harm."
I considered, then cursed myself for hesitating, even slightly! I was breaking my own rule (anonymity at all times)! All because some pirate captain was looking at me out of heart-melting brown eyes. A faint smile of superiority was playing on his lips. "You will tell me eventually, you know, love."
"Oh, really? Will I?"
"Aye. Know why?"
"Do tell me, Sparrow."
"You long to tell someone who you really are, receive the credit that's due to you, not as the Ice Queen, but under your real name. And there's another reason..."
"Is there?"
"Aye. Some day, very soon now, our situations are going to be reversed. You'll be the one locked in my brig, and I'll be the one on the outside."
I smirked. "Think so, Sparrow?"
"Know so, love. Know so. How long do you think it'll take for my crew on board the Pearl to find out you duped them?"
"Ten seconds at least," I shrugged. "Doesn't matter. It gave us a head start. It won't take us long to get to Port Royal now. And, when we get there, I'll take great pleasure in watching you hang."
