I couldn't sleep. Memories were flooding back, with all the force of a tidal wave, and, believe me, I've seen some tidal waves in my time.
I couldn't help wondering, over and over again, if my father was still alive. If he was still a pirate.
I couldn't help feeling like I was a terrible traitor.
I remembered the faces of all the pirates I had turned in, I remembered their voices as they pleaded with me. I tossed and turned. By the way, tossing and turning is a really bad idea when you're sleeping in a hammock. I turned too violently and ended up crashing onto the hard floorboards.
"Ow!" I got up, rubbing my leg, which I had bruised badly. I sighed deeply. No point in going back to bed, as I definitely couldn't sleep. I went up on deck.
The sound of the ink-black waves slapping the sides of my ship were very calming. So was the gentle dip and sway as the ship moved. I looked up at the stars, sparkling and twinkling.
"Pretty sight, isn't it, love?" a voice said, making me gasp.
"Sparrow! How did...?" I was going to ask how he got out of the brig, but there was no point. He would never tell me.
He grinned. "So. You were telling me about yer father."
"I don't know about him." I pointedly turned my back on Sparrow. "I don't want to know about him. He's a pirate."
"Not all pirates are bad, love," Sparrow said, mildly.
"Maybe not," I agreed, reluctantly.
"Do you know yer father's name?"
I shook my head. "Mother died before she could tell me very much."
"And ye never wanted to look for him? Never wanted to see where you get those golden eyes from, that long, chestnut hair?"
Something about the way he spoke sent shivers down my spine. "You know my father, don't you?" I said, icily.
He grinned, his whole face lighting up in a wicked smile. "I know him."
I closed my eyes, trying to come to terms with this. Did I want to know who my dad was? Deep down, I had to admit that I did. I...
Suddenly I felt something brush against my lips. I opened my eyes instantly. Sparrow was kissing me! Even more shocking, I was kissing him back! I pulled away, as if I had been burnt.
"What in the name do you think you're doing?" I snarled.
He smiled again. "Love. There's pirate blood in you and sooner or later, you're going to change sides. I can tell."
"Never!"
"That's what they all say, love. That's what they all say." He was standing closer and closer to me, and I was getting more and more uncomfortable, not because I didn't like him being near to me, but because I liked it too much!

Ice Queen - A Pirates Of The Caribbean Love Story
FanfictionIce Queen was the first Pirates Of The Caribbean fan fiction I wrote, and, because of that, it's very special to me. I'm proudest of it, because I was at a very good place mentally when I wrote it. I was a lot more confident about my writing (I've...
