I sit in front of the warm fire, hugging myself, as they try to comfort me. I don't believe what just happened, I feel completely numb. Eugene, my favorite person in the world up until now, tried to rape me-I think.

Before the apocalypse, I would sit in my room for hours and hours on end, watching the try guys. I had a notebook, (true story) that I used to write every thing I knew about Eugene in. I was completely obsessed with him, like literally obsessed.

But when the apocalypse struck, I didn't really think about him. I mostly thought about survival. And I guess that's what kept me alive.

"Emma!" Ned's voice pulls me from my thoughts, and I tilt my head to look at him.

"What?" The dead tone of my voice surprises even me.

"Are you ok? You look like your on the brink of suicide" Ned states.

"Oh no no.... I was just thinking..."

"Ok, do you want to talk to Eugene?" Ned asks, completely ignoring the fact I was almost raped by Eugene less than five minutes ago.

Arial gives Ned a dirty look. "Ned!"

"What?"

"Well maybe she was just almost raped by that man!"

While they argue, I slip away towards Zack and Keith's tent, and I politely "knock" on the fabric.

Zack opens the tent a little, letting me inside.

"Hey Zach?"

"Yeah"

"I'm kind of scared"

"Of what"

"Eugene.."

"Oh.." even in the darkness, I can see Zach's face darken.

"Can I maybe sleep in here? I don't want to sleep anywhere near that man."

"Umm sure.. we can arrange that. There's only room for two, but Keith can keep watch by the fire, and then we can switch at midnight."

"Keep watch for what?" I ask, intrigued.

"Well, walkers, wandering hoards, Eugene..."

"Ok, thanks for telling me," I manage to smile, "I'm really tired though, do you mind if I go to sleep now? I yawn.

"Not at all, after all you do need your beauty sleep so you can punch that motherfucker in the morning"

With that, I lay down on my side, curled into a ball, under one of the blankets.
