Chapter 5: She's Gone!

BELLA P.O.V

The whole family decided to go out on a shopping trip. I figured I would get some food for Ness, seeing as though she hasn't gone hunting in a while.

When Edward and I arrived at the grocery store, we started getting as much food as we could. Carlisle had said he would get some blood bags from the hospital so Ness would be healthy again.

We all agreed that we would meet in a local park after we had done our shopping.

Rose, Emmett, Alice, and Jasper decided to go get Ness some new clothes and things and Carlisle and Esme were getting blood bags.

The grocery store seemed awfully crowded today and it was taking a much longer time to check out then it would normally.

I felt Edward come up behind me and wrap his arms around my waist. He started planting kisses in my chocolate brown hair.

"Love, why are you so tense?" He asked cautiously.

"Edward I'm worried about Renesmee… she hasn't come out of her room for 2 weeks.." I started flashing back to what I said to Jacob that day 3 weeks ago.

*FLASHBACK*

"Jacob how could you do something like this to my daughter?!" I heard Edward screech as I leapt out of Renesmee's window.

"Edward, come to find out this isn't the first time he's done it." I said, my voice ice cold. I had no intention of showing Jacob any remorse.

Edward walked over to Jacob and grabbed his throat, pushing him against the nearest tree.

"First, you propose to my daughter without asking, and now you try to sleep her! Your lucky I don't kill you now" Edward screeched. Jacob struggled underneath his grip, gasping for air.

I walked over to Edward and pulled his hand down from Jacob's neck. But as soon as it was down, I pinned Jacob to the ground.

"Jacob, you need to leave. I don't trust you with my daughter anymore. I'll send Sam out when I feel comfortable with letting you see my daughter again. She's too young for someone like you. Once she has matured a little bit, I'll send Sam to find you."  I said with seriousness consuming my whole body.

I could see Jacob was extremely hurt by my words, but I meant every syllable.

"Leave. Now Jacob." Emmett said finally speaking up for the first time.

"Wait," He said, "Let me write her a note, I'll be back in 10 minutes. Please." Jacob continued begging.

"You have 5 minutes. Not a millisecond more." Edward stated, still tense from their confrontation.

Jacob took off and went off to some unknown place. I walked back to my cottage and locked the door. I broke down into tearless sobs on the floor of my living room. I soon felt arms around me and bringing me to my bedroom, but I had idea who. I soon fell into some sort of sleep with the same pair of arms wrapped around me.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

Edward kissed my temples and I immediately felt better.

During my flashback, the cashier had rung up all the groceries and we were now heading to the park.

We met up with the others and headed back home. All of a sudden Edward sped up. We were back at the Cullen Manor in record time.

Edward and Alice both ran up to Renesmee's room, and I followed them. I heard Alice release a blood curdling scream.

I walked into Ness's room, expecting to see her cold body on the floor of her room, but it wasn't there.

Nothing was there. Except her trademark purple stationery sitting on the desk.

Alice opened it and immediately ran downstairs.

I slowly approached her tiny desk and picked up the opened letter.

It read:

"Mom, Dad, and Family,

I have to leave. Its clear you're all ashamed of me. So I have to leave. -Ness"

I screamed and dropped the letter to the floor. Edward rushed to side and read the letter.

"She's gone!! This is all my fault!" I screamed and sobbed into Edward's shoulder.

This can't be happening to me. Not to me. Not to my perfect life. Not to my perfect daughter.

The reality set in: Renesmee is gone.
