Chapter 9: The Meeting

Renesmee P.O.V. 

"I'm sorry, what?" I said, not expecting those words to come from Alec's mouth. 

"Yes, my love, Aro has arranged for a meeting with you after we settle you in. I suggest you get some sleep, he will take you as soon as possible." Alec explained, no concern at all on his face. 

This relaxed me. Maybe this meeting isn't a bad thing. 

I walked over to the king sized bed, pulled back the duvet, and snuggled beneath the blankets. Alec made to leave for the library, but I didn't want him to go. 

"Alec, will you lay with me?" I asked hesistantly, not knowing how he would react. 

I never had to sleep alone, ever since I was a child. I did not want to change that. 

"Of course darling." Alec cooed, and he used his vampire speed to strip out of his clothing, grab some sweatpants, and he was back at the bed in a flash. 

Automatically, I turned away when I realized he was in his boxers. I suddenly felt very shy, even though this man was my mate, and I would probably be waking up to him nearly naked everyday, I was not used to it. 

"Don't be scared, Renesmee. I promise you, I don't bite." I heard him say, chuckling while pulling up his sweatpants. I took my arm off of my eyes, and now he was only bare-chested, and his pants hanging from his hips, 

He looked... hot. I would never been able to tell he had such defined abs from the clothing he usually wears, but seeing him like this.. so vulnerable.. ignited something inside of me. 

"Take a picture, babe, it lasts longer." He teased and I felt a sudden blush creep to my cheeks. The bed dipped beside me and Alec wrapped his arms around my waist. He pulled me to his cold chest and sighed with content. 

I snuggled into his embrace. And for the first time in 7 weeks, I finally felt happy. 

I drifted off into sleep with Alec drawing patters into my belly with his cool fingers.

I woke with a start, realizing that the cool embrace that I had fallen asleep in was absent. 

I rolled onto my back and looked around the room. I quickly spotted Alec up on the second floor of our room, at the stacks of the library. 

I could see the muscles in his back contracting as he reached for different books, and the dimples at the bottom of his spine popped out once in a while. 

He must have heard me wake, because he turned around and caught me staring. His pants were still hanging from his hips in that oh-so-delicious way, and it made me giggle. This was MY man. Now and forever. 

"Good morning, gorgeous." He said, smiling cheekily at me. He made his way down the stairs and came to the foot of the bed. "I'm sorry I left you, my foot fell alseep and I needed to get up. But get up and dress sweetheart, we need to feed you and get you ready for your meeting with Aro." 

He tugged on my hand, pulling me into a sitting position. He climbed onto the bed as well, and came close to me. Our faces were only mere centimeters apart. 

"You smell heavenly, Miss Cullen" Alec mumbled, and he closed the gap between our faces. 

Our lips connected with such a passion I didn't even know was possible. We continued to kiss like this for several minutes, only pulling away when I needed air.
