The Way of The Pack

Lilly's POV:

We live in a huge mansion right in the middle of a forest. Together we live like family. We hunt,learn to fight,and defend our pack. We never really go to the town because it's pretty far, and we really don't need to. Whenever we get a new pack member the male alpha usually, sends two or three of us to the mall. They always send at least one girl, because we spend less and try to buy comfortable clothes, for everyone. The guys get stylish stuff and spend a ton of money. We try to keep money around in case we go somewhere. I got up this morning to Jamie singing cheerfully. Our rooms are right next to each other's. On my Left was Jamie's room, to my right was Lara's room. Across the hall from me was, Fan's room. Across from Lara's room, was Blaze's room.

Across from Jamie is an empty room. Anyway, in each room is, a twin sized bed, a small bedside table, a lamp, an easy chair, and a large window with white see-through curtains.  Today was the day we were getting new alphas. The head alpha is usually the male because they are stronger. Today might be different. To determine the alphas we go through a series of tests. The next day, our results are posted by the oldest pack member outside. We all go down together as tradition, and read the results. We hunt for any animal we see and bring it to the house if you're lucky you get to hunt. if you come in last you get to drag the hunt back. First, Second and Third hunt. Fourth, Fifth,and Sixth cook the animals. Seventh, & Eighth drag the food to the house and bring firewood.  We only do this once every year, last year I got seventh. I'm determined this year to get cooking,or hunting. & Before I knew it the first test was here. We had to race to this pole untie the bag with our name on it take the pieces out and assemble them. I got there first out of everyone, with Anna right behind me, and Jam behind her. I grabbed the pocket knife they give us an ran to the pole. I chopped down my bag and attempted to run back but, I tripped over a hole in the path and cut my hand. " Damn it!" I mumbled. I grabbed everything and ran but it was too late. Anna got first, Jam got second, and I got third. I guess I didn't look back because I didn't know who got fourth or fifth. Fruit got sixth. I watched her cross the finish line. I still don't know who got last or behind me. By the time I got done my second test I was sure, I'm not going to be alpha. I hope Jam gets it. Blaze got first,  Fan got second, Jam got third, Anna got fourth, Fruit got fifth, I got sixth, Lara got seventh, Nina got eighth. On the third test the test of mind, Fruit got first,Jam got second, Nina got third,Blaze got fourth, Fan got fifth,Lara got sixth,  I got seventh, Anna got last. You'd think I'd be better at this, after being here for four years.  The first two years I was fine because the tests were easier. They changed  it two years ago, when  I was eleven, I barely even made it. After each test I became more and more  worried. Sometimes the people in last get kicked out of the pack. I pondered the thought that I could be kicked out.. while sitting against a tree, I took out my Ipod, put in my headphones, and blared my music, trying to block out my thoughts. Suddenly something in the forest slammed into me. I went flying through the air, trying to figure out what that was, and I changed into wolf form. I landed on my feet but I lost my balance and began tumbling down the hill. I growled through clenched teeth, then shifted to human form. "Help!!!!!!" I screamed. Then, everything went dark...

Jamie's POV: I was in the house, eating popcorn and watching a movie when, Lara came in screaming. "Calm down.... Now what's wrong?"  she tried to calm down and said " it's Lilly. Something in the woods threw her down the hill and she-she's unconscious."  Blaze was sitting right next to me, and his smile faded. He ran out the door so fast you' d think someone died. Blaze grabbed Lilly and carried her back to the house before we could even move. He ran up to her room and gently sat her down. We checked on her the rest of the day, Blaze and Lara stayed with her all day in case she wakes up.

Blaze's POV: I couldn't believe what I saw.  I just knew it had happened. It was hard for me to face this. An hour later.............

Lilly screamed "No!!!!!! Stop!!!!" I couldn't stop myself, I walked up to her and grabbed her hand and said softly,"Lilly it's okay. You're okay. Relax".  "Blaze?" "Yeah, it's me." "Oh okay." With that she opened her eyes. She seemed to remember everything. She went to sleep and we left.
