Imprinting

Draven came over early in the morning to begin reading our new books. We flipped through the book until we found the imprint section. In my mind I figured you imprinted by some sexual way. He laughed and shook his head at me.

"What's so funny?"

He smiled. "No it's not from anything sexual. It's when your bonded to that person forever. It says, when an imprint occurs it happens from the feeling of wanting or desiring to mate with. Basically the feeling has to mutual or it's just considered lust.

I rolled my eyes. "Great, so what happens when I don't want or desire anyone?

"Well then your gonna be just like the crazy cat lady on your plane ride here.

"How did you?"

"You forgot I can read minds. I also know you find me attractive, but you also find Darrian attractive. How in the world would that work?"

"What?"

"You and a werewolf? That's not exactly the right combination you know. Pretty sure imprinting only works on the same kind."

I cleared my throat. "Imprinting may occur with any species. Example: Angel good or fallen may imprint with a vampling."

"Okay I get it, but imprint with another species? That's creating hybrids not another generation."

"Technically, a generation is just children from the prior one. They do not have to be the same everytime. Plus if I want a hybrid I can have one. I never said I did or did not want anyone yet. All you know is who I find attractive. Yes I think your really hot but that doesn't mean I like the way you act. Plus your putting on some tough guy front. Your ex cheated and now it's made you into someone your not."

"Right and you know all this because?"

"I can read your mind too. Remember one our gifts can be the same."

"Damn, so you know exactly what I'm thinking huh?"

"I sure do and the answer is none of your business sir."

"Was only checking if you could really read my mind. I don't seriously want to know that. Well yet anyway."

" Glad to know you don't want to know my bra color. Aspen is coming in to tell us something I can hear his mind."

"Who's Aspen?"

"Goddess Onyx's cat, he's really cute an fuzzy."

Just then Aspen appeared next to my leg.

"Hey Aspen, I know you have something you need to tell us right?"

"Seriously Kay, he's not going to answer you."

Aspen turned his head sideways for a moment. Licked his paw and rubbed his left ear.

"Oh but on the contrary Draven, I'm very capable of speaking just fine. I however am not here to give you lessons on how to talk to the ladies. Onyx has sent me here to get every one to come to the garden to receive their pets." 

I instantly started laughing so hard.

"What's so funny?" Draven questioned.

I cleared my throat. " Oh nothing, but we are to go to the garden to receive our new pets I guess. He said we can follow him so we don't get lost in the castle."

Draven nodded and stood up ready to follow Aspen. I followed close behind them. I could hear him thinking of asking to hold my hand. I grabbed his hand and intertwined my fingers with his. He just looked at me and smiled. Now that I've made his day. We are about to receive our new pets.
