Allison's  P.O.V

This day has gone a bit well. People around me are too caught up with the new guy coming today.I walked to my English class and sat down at my seat at the back. Soon, students were flooding in. A group of squirming girls sat infront of me.

"I heard he arrived already!"

"Tess told me he's super duper cute!"

"I wish he is in our class!"

Indeed he is. A well-framed guy entered  the room carrying a timetable in his hands. He aproached our teacher and spoke to her quietly.

The whole class erupted in various chatters. Cautiously glancing at the new guy.

Some girls were staring at him with wide eyes while fixing their hair and clothes, the guys were either smirking at him or shooting him daggers. And the girls infront of me are literally fanning themselves with their hands.

Pathetic people.

I doodled at the back of my notebook, not giving any interest with the new guy.

"Attention everyone! This is our new student from the UK. Please introduce yourself to them." The teacher said the last part to him. Though I didn't look up.

"Good afternoon everyone. I am Lucas Clark."

The familiarity of the sound of his voice and his name made me look up immediately.

What the hell. You've got to be kidding me?

He's the guy who offered me a ride because they ruined my morning jog and splashed mud all over me.

Luckily he didn't sit beside me or else he would have remembered me.

I mean, I was my sassy-rich-kid self when we met and now I'm this bullied freak. He'll just end up getting freaked out.

**

Just before I went home I noticed that Lucas was now surrounded by the pops and lots of pathetically swooning girls.

Looks like he is one of them now.

I jogged to my house and ende up panting like an obese dog. Yeah I walk to and from school for about 15 minutes rather than riding my own car. Don't judge! I'm actually fit because of  that. Well, not that fit to be honest.

I came across my neighbor who was busy watering her plants and another one who was walking his dog. I smiled to them and continued fast-walking to my house.

As I reached the gates, I took the mails inside the mailbox.

For my mom

For my dad

For my mom

For my dad

For my mom

For my dad

Oh, for me!

I ripped open the envelope revealing a red-white printed paper. Ugh, it's from the bank. Just informing me about my balance and all that bullshit.

I shivered as the cold wind brushed past me. I hurriedly ran inside and closed the gates.

Most houses here doesn't have gates but we do. Sometimes its very inconvenient.

I ran across the front yard with Chim running beside me.

**

After changing into mesh shorts and a neon Nike jersey shirt, I walked outside and into the backyard.

I sat down by the pool and dangled my feet in the water. I stared at my blurry reflection at the water thinking all of my imperfections.

Dark eyebags

Freckles

Frizzy hair

dull green eyes

My train of thoughts were interrupted by my mother's sing-song voice.

"Honey I'm home!" How cliche. I stood up and wiped my dripping legs before entering the house.

"Hi mom. Hi dad." I greeted and they hugged me. I hugged back awkwardly since I'm not a big fan of hugs. It's suffocating you know.

Mom told me to go up to my room while I wait for dinner to be served.

I decided to arrange the contents of my bedside drawers.

A few earphones, iPhone cases, empty perfume bottles, candy wrappers and more. There were more trash than sensible things. Nothing in particular caught my attention except for a long forgotten photograph.

A picture of a little boy and girl, sitting on the swing while holding each other's hands. They  look so happy, so adorable and so innocent.

The picture made me snort and shove it back inside the drawer.

My mom called me down for dinner and I walked out.

I can't believe I still have that photo.
