Allison's P.O.V
"What a loser."
"Attention seeker coming."
"Wow. I can't believe she's secretly a whore."
"She probably drowned herself so Lucas would save her. Ha! slut."
That's what I have been hearing the next day. I am used to it but the last statement made me stop and look back but no one was looking my way. I continued walking towards my locker. So that explains why he was there at the infirmary yesterday. And also why the principal probably let him off the whole afternoon.
My eyes widened when I saw Lucas leaning beside my locker. He's eyebrows met and a concentrated look was plastered on his face. I walked closer and tapped his shoulder. "Ow Al! I was almost there!" He locked his phone and defeatedly put it inside his back pocket. I rose an eyebrow at him."Almost where?" He sighed and stepped aside so I can access my locker. "I almost beat the high score." He pouted and I laughed quietly at him.
"Oh sorry. What game is that anyway?" I placed all the unnecessary things inside and took out the needed ones. "Flappy Bird" I gave him a weary look and flicked his ear. "Really Lucas? Flappy Bird? I thought that game was deleted already?" I slung my backpack on my back and we started walking to Biology class. "I installed it beforehand so I still have it. It's really addicting and frustrating. Wanna try?" He held out his phone to me. I shook my head no and continued walking. Walking to class together and him waiting for me at my locker wasn't arranged okay?

"Okay class, prepare your notebooks and copy the things on the chalkboard. These are not not found in your textbook and the bell will ring in a few minutes so hurry up." Miss Jones, our History teacher said and slammed her books on the wooden teacher's table. I quickly took out my notebook and flipped it open to a clean page.
When I was done, I started flipping through random pages of my notebook and found a few doodles here and there. But as I was flipping absent-mindedly a page caught my attention. There was a short message written in a messy handwriting...
Meet me at the garden later during lunch :) -L
I stared blankly at the page. How the hell did he get to write in my notebook? I looked around then I realised that we weren't in the same class. I sighed and looked at my wrist-watch. I shoved my things inside my bag and slung it over my shoulder. You can call me eager but the bell is gonna ring in a few seconds anyway. As if on cue, the bell rang and students rushed out of their classes, including me.
As I was casually weaving through the sea of people in the hallway, I bumped into Lucas who just sent me a cheeky wink and disappeared with the crowd. I groaned and entered my next period. I slumped on my seat and waited for the teacher. One more hour and I'll know what that guy is up to.

"Sorry for making you wait. I just had to get this from the car." I turned around and saw him struggling with two boxes in his arms. He set the boxes in front of us and sat beside me with a grin. "This is for you and... This is for me." He looked at me and nodded his head towards my box which is a bit bigger than his. I took it in my hands and placed it on my lap. I opened it and saw it's contents.
A large cup watermelon slushie, a take home bag from the diner we ate at yesterday and a medicine box. I looked at him and realised that I haven't said anything to him yet. How rude. "Thank you Lucas but you didn't have to." He just laughed charmingly and took out the contents of his box which was the same with mine excluding the medicine box.
"But I wanted to. C'mon, eat up." He said and slurped his slushie. I opened the take home bag and saw a packed grilled steak. My mouth immediately watered and quickly took it out. I glanced at Lucas who was looking at me with an amused expression. "What?" I spoke quietly as I chew on my food. He just chuckled and ruffled the top of my head.
When we finished our food, we were just casually chatting about random stuff and then I remembered the Medicine box. "Why is there a medicine box?" I asked curiously. He grabbed the box and opened it revealing a few bandages, ice packs and etc... "I brought it for your leg. I noticed you're still limping so I believe it's a good idea to bring these for you." I nodded and mumbled an incoherent 'thanks' to him. And silence enveloped us.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I broke the ice. He looked at me and said, "Tell you what?" I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. "That you were the one that jumped in and saved me." He let out a shaky breath and stared at the grassy ground beneath us. "I didn't think it was important."
"You practically saved my life, ofcourse that's important. Thank you Lucas, thank you." I squeezed his arm and stood up. I gathered my stuff, smiled at him and walked away. As I was on my way out, he yelled. "See you around?" My smile got wider at the thought that he actually liked my company. But I didn't get my hopes up. "Ofcourse, Lucas." And with that I walked out of the garden and proceeded to the library.

"What happened to your leg? Why the hell are you limping Allison?" My brother looked pointedly at me. I rose my eyebrow at him and brushed past him. "Like you care." I lowly muttered but made sure he heard it. "What was that young lady? You don't have the right to be rude at me."
I threw my bag on the couch frustratedly. "Oh hell yes I do. For two days Kev, I was alone. I was alone in this gigantic house, looking after my injured self. You wanna know what happened to me? Well first of all, I got into an accident during gym class and drowned. I was out for three fucking hours. My first thought was that you guys will be there when I wake up but no. I saw no one. Not even mom or dad. The school called you several times but they ended up with nothing. Heck, even I don't know where you are. I may be over-reacting but the thing is that I was hurt. You just slapped me with the fact that you didn't care at all. I have never felt so alone."
I ran upstairs with tears streaming down my face. I slammed my room door shut and jump on my bed. I burried myself under the covers and cried myself to sleep.
