Allison's P.O.V
I slept rather uncomfortably last night. The cast on my leg is making things hard. Yes, you heard it right. A cast. I have a freakin cast on my left leg. I cringed as I recalled the doctor explaining things to me. He told me that I have a fracture in my lower-thigh, just two inches from my knee cap. And a few inches below my knee, there was a brittle part that if it was hit again then it might cause another fracture.
I groaned as I brushed my teeth when I realized that my leg is heavier than usual and the fact that I'll be using crutches in school made my stomach twist.
I wore a pair of bermuda shorts, plain shirt and a hoodie. I hated wearing these shorts because it's basically displaying my fat legs. It ended mid-thigh, just before the cast. I slipped on my worn-out Keds and grabbed my crutches before heading out. I slowly stepped down the stairs, afraid of falling down.
"Good mo- What the hell?" Kevin's eyes widened and ran across the living room and up the stairs. He lifted me up and carried me down in a flash. "What happened to you?" Concern in his voice dripped like a leaking faucet. He crouched down and examined the cemented part. "The pool plus yesterday's accident equals... That." I motioned to my leg.
"Mind explaining?" He crossed his arms across his chest. I shook my head and walked towards the cupboard and grabbed a granola bar. I leaned on the kitchen island and munched on it. "I'm driving you to school right?" I shook my head once again. Refusing to speak.
"Don't tell me you're walking because it'll take you 9000 years to reach school. And there's no way in hell, I'm letting you drive with that." He eyed my injured leg once more and stared back up at me with a smug look. As if saying that I have no choice. I sighed and walked past him. I grabbed a thick cardigan and headed to the door.
"I'm gonna be late you know."
He placed his mug on the kitchen table and followed suit. Grabbing his leather jacket in the process. He rushed out and drove his Rover out of the garage and on the path way near the gate. I walked down the steps and towards his car. I threw my crutches in the backseat and sat in front.
"I'm sorry baby sis." Kevin broke this ice. We've sat on an uncomfortable silence since we left the house. "I know Kev. I'm sorry too." I smiled at him. He grinned and patted my head.
Kevin pulled over infront of the school building. "Take care okay? I love you sis." He hugged me and kissed the top of my head. I hugged him back and muttered an 'I love you too'. I hopped out of the Rover and grabbed the crutches from the backseat.
"Call me when you need something!" He said as I was about to close the door. "Will do. Don't worry so much." He nodded. I turned around and face the school building. I heaved out a sigh and trudged up the mini steps.
I walked past the doors and in the hallway which was filled with almost all of the student body. They gawked at me and laughed. Some of the jocks guffawed at the sight of me. I walked past Hayden who simply smirked and rosed his eyebrow at me. I walked ahead with my head down.
After grabbing my books from the locker, I headed to Biology class immediately. The stares were making me uncomfortable. I pushed open the doors of the room. There were only about five people inside but i caught the attention of someone in particular. Lucas was seated in the middle of the room, flipping through a book. My entrance basically caught his attention. He gaped at me, his eyes raking from my eyes all the way down to my injured leg. I felt concious and blushed.
I limped across the room with my crutches and sat in the far far corner of the room. I arranged my stuff on the floor, including my super inconvenient crutches. "Are you alright?" Lucas' thick british accent rang through my ears. I sat up straight and faced him. "Yeah" He sat down beside me.
"I thought it was getting better?" Confusion evident in his eyes.
I sighed and leaned back on my chair. "It was but something happened yesterday that fractured this... And this." I explained while pointing out the injured parts. He just nodded and then took out our geometry book. About 2 minutes later, he groaned and slammed his book on the desk. He frustratedly ran his fingers through his hair?
I chuckled quietly and shifted my body towards him. "Having a hard time?" He shrugged lightly and laid his head back on the wall behind us. "I suck in Math! I'm trying my best but I just couldn't get the hang of it. It's like it goes in this ear and out on the other." I patted his shoulders and beamed at him.
"If you need help then you can approach me. Any time will be alright." I offered.
"Well if that's the case, I am gonna be needing that time now." He laughed.

Our Bio teacher didn't turn up today which left Lucas and I more time to study Geometry. It was not actually hard to teach him. He probably just needed determination or focus.
The lunch bell has rung a few minutes ago and now I'm headed to the cafeteria to grab some lunch. As I pass by some students, some looked at me like I've grown two heads and the others just gave me a sad smile.
I pushed the doors open and the normal lunch chaos greeted me. Groups of people laughing, throwing filthy stuffs to the weird kids, some eating in peace or just murmuring. But what caught my attention.
On the popular table, there was a heated conversation between Lucas and Hayden. I couldn't hear anything they were practically screaming at each other since they were out of earshot from where I'm standing. I'm still rooted in my spot near the door.
I shrugged them off and walked towards the food area. I stood in line quietly and waited for my turn. I shifted my crutches a little bit and took out 2 bucks to pay for my cheap sandwich.
"I think their fighting about a girl."
Someone from the line murmured but I didn't catch who it was. I focused my attention to the two yelling bloody murder at each other. They were attracting attention because there was already a small crowd growing. Lucas was using his hands to emphasize what he's saying and Hayden is simply standing there with his hands in his pockets but anyone could tell that he was also pissed beyond imagination.
I rolled my eyes at them and payed for my food. I placed my sandwich inside my bag and walked away from the cashier and past the popular table. I was just stalking off like a normal person but then I heard something that made me stop. My name.
"Allison is a great girl. What has she done to you? How can you even bear to do that?" Lucas snapped exasperatedly. He ran his fingers through his hair. And took a step back from a fuming Hayden.
"You don't fucking know anything asshole. Not even the slightest thing. So you better shut the fuck up before i do that myself!" Hayden countered back. As he was about to pounce on Lucas, I interrupted them. I held out one of my crutches in between them. Yeah fabulous.
"Stop it both of you! This stupid banter won't solve anything you stupid idiots." I yelled at them and the whole student body fell silent. Both Lucas and Hayden gawked at me in shock.
"It's his fa-" Lucas started blabbering but i shut him up with my glare. He looked down, immediately embarrassed. Hayden laughed deeply from behind. My blood boiled at how he's handling the situation.
I swiftly turned around. "Shut the fuck up or I'll shove this down your filthy throat." I spat at him and threatened him with the crutches. He pressed his lips into a thin line and diverted his gaze to an orange sitting beside him.
I glared at both of them before walking out.
