"Good morning birds, good morning trees," my phone blares. My eyes slowly open as I push off the covers. I take a deep breathe as I shut off the alarm. I strech my arms before walking into my bathroom, rather slowly. I take one look at my frazzled brown hair and nearly leap into the shower.
The hot water hits my back. I smile as I bask in the warmth. I quickly wash my hair and I hop out of the shower. I blow dry my hair, letting my soft curls fall naturally around my face. I put on a little blush and mascara before getting into my outfit for the day.
I run down the stairs where I am met by my younger sister, Summer. Who is whining. Again.
"But I don't want to wear these shoes!" she shrieked, looking in disgust at her black shoes that she had to wear for her uniform.
"It's the dress code. Wear it," my mom said, sipping on her coffee before handing me my ginger tea with honey and lemon. I laugh at my sister's antics before I begin to sip the lukewarm drink as I make my eggs and bacon.
"We are leaving in ten minutes!" I say looking at the clock.
"But Autumn," my sister begins to whine but I run up the stair quickly, saying, "Ten minutes!"
I brush my teeth and then grab my backpack along with my phone. I rush down the stairs and grab my prepacked lunch before walking out the door.
"Summer!" I yell.
"Coming!" she hollers back.
"Bye girls. Have a great first day at school," my mom says as I get into my car. Summer quickly gets in.
"Bye mom! Love you!" Summer and I say at the same time.
On the car ride to drop off Summer she refuses to let me turn on Waitress.
"But it's so good," I say.
"You can listen to it after you drop me off," she said, glaring at me. I sigh and soon we are at her school.
"Bye Summer," I say.
"Later loser. Oh! I'm going to Beth's after-school, FYI," she said, and she then slammed the door before I could answer.
I let out a small sigh, before quickly turning on Waitress. I sing along softly to the music as I pull into my school's parking lot.
I take one look at the building and let out a small sigh.
"You'll be fine. It's your junior year of high school," I say to myself. I park my car and grab my things before walking into the building.
As soon as I enter, I am tackled by no one other than Lily.
"Omigosh! I haven't seen you all summer? How was camp? I bet it was great! Are you excited for the musical? I am! I bet you're going to get a lead. Oh! I missed you so much," she said, before having to take a breath of air.
"Camp was amazing. We did Legally Blonde and they cast me as Elle!" I said.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she said, giving me a small slap.
"Because the camp was in NYC?" I said.
"Oh. Right," she said.
We continued to catch up as we roamed the hallways, waiting for the bell to ring.
Suddenly, I bump into someone.
"Oh! Sorry," I begin, but trail off as I notice who it is.
"Oh, it's you," Stella says, narrowing her eyes at me.
