ZOE WAS JUMPING FROM A COBBLESTONE TO ANOTHER, careful not hit the lines between them as she pretended something bad would happen then, her long, black hair flicking along the movements.

It was not the ten-year-old girl's first time in Diagon Alley, she had been there on several occasions with her Aunt Andromeda and Uncle Ted before. However, this time she was very excited to be there: they were going to purchase her school supplies for Hogwarts.

"Zoe, don't travel too far." Ted chuckled. "We wouldn't want to lose you for the third time today."

"It's not my fault that it's so bloody crowded in here." Zoe answered in amusement, referring to the many people who were shopping for the supplies of their children on the cobblestoned shopping area.

"I suppose that it wasn't your fault either that you came out of the restroom with your trousers' legs and shoes dripping with toilet water?" Andromeda said, rolling her eyes gently.

"It's not my fault that I heard that there are toilets that flush you to the Ministry of Magic." Zoe said in an obvious manner. "I was curious - of course I had to try it!"

"Well, how did that work out?" Andromeda said, letting out a chuckle. "I had to dry your clothes from all the toilet water and you seemed pretty upset to be covered by it back there."

"And how would have that ended up if you would had gotten to the Ministry of Magic like you wished, huh?" Ted questioned.

"Fine." the young girl sighed in surrender. "I am sorry for trying to get sucked in by the toilet."

"Now, is there anything missing from the supplies list?" Andromeda asked with a small smile.

"It says here that I can bring an owl, turtle or a cat." Zoe said, with a sudden grin appearing on her face that she was trying to change as innocent as she could.

"Would you like one?" Ted sighed in amusement. "Your mother gave us enough money to buy you also a pet if you'd like one."

"Yes, please!" Zoe said, jumping up and down excitedly. "Follow up question: does it have to be an owl, turtle or a cat?"

The two adults exchanged a look.

"What would you then like?" Andromeda asked cautiously.

"A dragon or a dog!"

"Yes, it has to be one from the list." Ted said quickly.

"Alright, I want an owl." Zoe said then simply. "That way I can write to you."

The three made their way to a shop called Eylops Owl Emporium. It was relatively small and dark inside. Ted explained that it was probably because owls were nocturnal creatures.

Zoe strolled around the shop, looking at different owls of different breeds, sizes and colors. Zoe didn't really know what she was looking for since she wasn't one to know much about owl breeds. The girl thought that she would just know it was the one when she would set her eyes on her future pet.

Zoe stopped in front of the cage of a small, brown owl that was making awful lot of noise. She shook her head to herself: less than ten seconds with the bird and her patience had already worn off.

"That one's cute." Andromeda, who was following Zoe few steps behind, stated. "Petite sized. Wouldn't take too much space or food for that matter."

"I don't really care for it." Zoe said thoughtfully, and continued browsing around.

She stopped in front of a jet-black owl. It was big and skinny, looking gorgeously dangerous with his black, smooth feathers on her opinion.

"This is it." she said to Andromeda and Ted, a grin curving its way onto her face whilst her eyes were still fixed on the owl sleeping in his cage.
