16- TREASURE HUNT

ZOE SPENT THE FOLLOWING NIGHT with small amount of sleep since she had to explain what had gone down in Professor Lupin's classroom to Fred, George, Lee, Harry, Ron and Hermione in the Hospital Wing while laying on one of the empty hospital beds with Lee.

The Gryffindor girl couldn't really even put her head around what she was feeling. It felt as if for the first time in a long time she could breathe properly and she couldn't come up with a reason not to smile.

Fred, George, Lee and Zoe agreed to move their spell war by one day because they had forgotten all about the Hogsmeade trip they had on that day. They spent the day in Hogsmeade casually and were back by noon to the still pretty deserted castle.

It was where they crashed into rushing Harry. His clothes were sitting untidily on him and he had to fix the position of his glasses that were gliding down the bridge of his nose. It seemed like he had ran inside the castle all the way from outside.

"Zoe, there you are!" Harry exclaimed hastily, panting slightly.

"What's up, Harry?"

"Lupin resigned!" Harry yelled.

"He what!?" the four shouted together, shocked.

"He's packing right now. I'm going to see him. Are you coming?" Harry asked.

Zoe nodded and she picked up Harry's running pace towards his office. Remus' office door was open when they arrived. He was packing his things, and seemed almost done.

"I saw you two coming." Remus said, smiling. He pointed a parchment on his desk, the Marauder's Map.

"I just saw Hagrid." Harry told. "And he said you'd resigned. It's not true, is it?"

"I'm afraid it is." Remus stated. He started emptying his desk's drawers.

"Why?" Zoe let out.

"Sirius is free now." Remus said with a smile, and Harry and Zoe glanced at each other, smiling. "He was innocent all along, as was I... I don't know was it that or the fact that he was wrong, but something was the final straw for Severus. So he – er – accidentally let slip that I am a werewolf this morning at breakfast."

"You're not leaving just because of that!" Harry furrowed his brows together.

"This time tomorrow, the owls will start arriving from parents – they will not want a werewolf teaching their children."

"Tonight's full moon." Zoe said abruptly. "Is it also part of the reason why you're leaving?"

Remus sighed with small smile. "I believe that Severus is not up to doing the Wolfsbane Potion for me anymore."

"It's not fair." Harry sighed.

"But we'll see you," Zoe begun, grinning - trying to cheer up, "when summer holiday starts. We'll see you at home, right?"

"Yes, Sirius made me very aware of my living arrangements." Remus laughed.

She smiled. She knew that Remus' transformations wouldn't be so bad if Sirius was in his Animagus form with him. At least now Sirius wouldn't have to be alone until Harry and Zoe's term would end.

Zoe looked at Harry, who was smiling now too.

"You're the best Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher we've ever had." he said.

"Well, that doesn't take much, does it?" Zoe said teasingly, thinking about Quirrell and Lockhart. Then she laughed, "I'm kidding. But really, Harry's right, I know that no one can ever replace you as a teacher."
