ZOE HAD PREDICTED SHE WAS GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE DURING HER FIRST WEEK, knowing her nature, but she hadn't predicted that it would happen already on Monday and that she would get other students in trouble too.

The girl had been on her way to lunch when she had noticed the line of alive-like suits of armors standing on a corridor. She had never seen a suit of armor in real life before. Zoe had experienced a feeling of fascination.

Zoe had been carrying very fittingly Dr Filibuster's Fireworks, so without hesitation, the girl had opened the visors of three suits of armors' and threw a whizzing firework down each.

Before the fireworks had set off, two identical, tall, red-haired and freckled boys had swaggered down the corridor. They had been wearing black robes with a Gryffindor crest on them, like Zoe.

Then the fireworks had gone off, emitting loud sparks and bangs. The suits of armors' metallic limbs had detached themselves from the rest of the figure due to the explosion inside it and were splattered around the corridor. There was a bit smoke and small blue stars floating in the air.

Zoe and the twins had exchanged a look before all bursting into laughter.

"That was awesome!" the other one of them had exclaimed in joy.

But that was when the caretaker of Hogwarts, Filch, had arrived to the scene, enraged. He had said that the three would all have detention with him in the evening and that their Head of House would be informed of what they had done. Zoe had tried to tell the man that the two boys had had nothing to do with the trick, but it seemed like Filch and the brothers had an unpleasant history, so he hadn't believed her.

The detention was held in Hogwarts' trophy room. Filch was personally overseeing it, very strictly, to add.

The polishing of the trophies without using magic was really tiring the three students, so they were in luck when the caretaker's cat, Mrs Norris, arrived to the trophy room, informing that there was someone who wasn't following the school rules. Filch followed the cat out of the room, gleeful of the idea of getting to punish more students, right after threatening the three Gryffindors if they even thought about leaving the detention.

"Is that bloke sadistic or something?" Zoe scoffed in unbelief, putting down the trophy she had been cleaning.

The two boys turned to look at her, grinning a bit.

"Very much so." one of them said.

"What's the deal with the cat? It's that like his wife or something?"

"What?" he asked, furrowing his brows and bursting to laughter.

"People can turn into animals with magic. Or there's another, very weird solution... I mean, because why would he name her Mrs and not Ms? Sounds like the cat is married."

Both of the brothers laughed and then pointed out that she did have a point.

"What's your real name, firework girl?" the other one asked curiously.

"Zoe Black."

"I'm Fred Weasley." the brother who was closer to her introduced himself.

"And I'm George Weasley." George greeted. "Nice to meet you."

"Are you twins? Or is other one of you just a Metamorphmagus?" Zoe joked, smirking.

"Why would you think we're twins?" Fred gasped in a dramatic manner, continuing the joke. "We look nothing alike! I am clearly better looking than him!"

"I have to highly disagree with that. It is obvious that my bum is hotter than his!" George said, bringing Zoe to snort.

"Well, turn around and let me be the judge of that!" she joked.

Fred and George laughed.

The three discussed for quite a long time, enjoying each other's company. They eventually returned back to polishing the trophies, whilst making impressions of the person the trophy belonged to, imagining what they were like.

It turned out that the poltergeist of Hogwarts, Peeves, had been making a mess which was why it had taken so long for Filch to arrive back to the trophy room. He was on a very foul mood but surprisingly, he let the three go.

Making their way to the Gryffindor Tower, Zoe apologized with a shy grin, "Sorry that you had to come there with me even though you hadn't done anything."

"Don't worry, it was worth seeing the suits of armors explode." Fred reassured.

"Yeah, it was funny." George agreed, humored.

"And it was worth making a new friend." Fred said casually, grinning.

"And a new partner in crime." George grinned proudly, putting his arm around her in a friendly manner.

"Friends in law, partners in crime." Zoe said.

"Sounds good."

"Doesn't it, Fred?" the girl grinned mischievously.

"Hold on - you can tell us apart?"

"Other people can't?"

On her free time, Zoe was usually found in the company of Fred, George and Lee Jordan, joking around or looking for trouble. They got away with a lot of jokes and pranks that they pulled, due to an amazing map that the twins had – it showed where all the people in Hogwarts were and the castle's secret passageways.

Since the boys were on their third year they had trips to the nearby village, Hogsmeade, on some weekends but nothing stopped them from sneaking in the younger girl with them.

The other students enjoyed Zoe's company. Her witty remarks during their classes always brought a lot muffled laughter.

Even with her lack of concentration, the girl's academic career wasn't going too bad. Many didn't know that she was one of the top students on every class apart from Herbology, History of Magic and Potions.

The Potions Master, Professor Snape, seemed to carry hatred towards her and Harry Potter ever since they had stepped inside the class room in their first class of Potions. Which was partly why she wasn't exceeding in the subject. Nevertheless, something good came out of it: Zoe befriended with Harry and Ron, who was actually Fred and George's brother, after walking out of the class and speaking rather vibrantly ill of Snape.

Zoe even sometimes chatted with Draco and Blaise. She enjoyed teasing them as it was easy since the two boys seemed to take things sometimes rather a bit too seriously.

All in all, she highly enjoyed her first year in Hogwarts.
