At the mention of my brother's name, both Ravyn and I break down into tears. Mine are silent while hers are audible.

"Who was Kai?" Liam asks slowly.

"He was my twin brother and..." I look to Rayvn, "and you were his mate."

Her eyes go wide with shock, "What? That's not possible."

"It is." Liam beats me to it, "Werewolves are unpredictable, but sometimes, so are their mates. Some never find their other half, some are childhood friends, and some are two different species."

Rayvn turns to me, "Why didn't he tell me? Why didn't you tell me?" Her voice started rising.

"I know you're sad and angry but you need to understand. You were leaving. And he didn't want to hold you back. He also wasn't sure if you felt it. So he pretended not to feel anything. He loved you Rayvn. And I didn't tell you because it's not my right. And because I love you too. You needed to go and train at The Academy and we couldn't hold you back." I wipe furiously at the tear rolling down my cheek.

"That could've waited-"

"No, it couldn't," I argue.

We all grow silent once more until Rayvn speaks up.

"How was it your fault?"

"You know how Hunter and I had feelings for each other? Well, he assumed I would be Alpha, therefore he would be Alpha too. But when Kai shifted before us both, I told him that Kai would become Alpha now since he shifted first. Of course, I wasn't positive on this matter since there aren't a lot of twin wolves born. Anyways, Hunter was ok with it. Kai and Hunter were best friends. Like me and you." I look to Rayvn with a small smile, "Kai asked Hunter to be his Beta, which he accepted ecstatically. But when Hunter finally shifted, something about him changed. He no longer wanted to be a Beta, but an Alpha. The day he shifted he touched my shoulder. We both felt nothing, and that infuriated him. I'd never seen that side of him. I only knew him as kind, sweet, and caring. But that part of him was gone and I was just too naive to see it. I loved him too much," I physically gag at the feeling. "Sorry, it just seems so weird saying that. I feel like I mean it, but I don't feel it. When you love someone, you never truly forget, but I don't actually remember ever having feelings for him."

"That's odd. Maybe he was delusional and made you believe you had those feelings when you didn't." I chuckle at Liam's jealousy.

"No need to get jealous Liam. I don't love Hunter. At all. But seriously, I really loathe him and I always thought of him as another brother. And you, Rayvn, like my sister."

"Now that you've cleared that up, can you please continue? I need to know." Rayvn pushes me and the conversation about my feelings is left behind.

"A couple of months went by and Hunter was starting to act normal again. Kai was showing off his wolf every chance he got. Hunter was reserved in that sense. One day my dad told the boys to go with some scouts and patrol. They got separated sometime thereafter. And all anyone knows, according to one of the scouts, was that Hunter attacked Kai and eventually Kai stopped moving. Hunter ran off to the other scouts and said they were attacked. He had some cuts that quickly healed except a claw slash across his chest. The scouts searched for Kai's body but it was never found. All that was at the scene was blood, mainly Kai's and a lot of it. Everyone believed Hunter for a moment until the witness came forward. Then people began to realize the truth. He was supposed to be executed, but I couldn't lose another person I cared about. You left," I look to Rayvn, "Kai was dead, and I didn't know you at the time." I turn to Liam. "So, like the weak coward I was, I begged my father not to kill him but rather just banishment. And you can't say 'No' to daddy's little girl. So Hunter got to live. And because of me. He killed my brother, my mother, my father, my pack, and me."
