*Gianna's pov
I can't believe I'm sitting in Adam Levine's car. I can't believe I walked into 222 records and met him and got a job as his secretary! Now I'm going to meet his family?! This is insane! "You okay Gianna? You seem very quiet, and well I can't tell if it's because you're shy or really nervous" he said softly coming to a stop at a red light. "Um, both" I said. He chuckled, "there's no reason to be nervous." "Yea there is! I'm sitting in Adam Levine's car going to his mothers house!" I said still shocked I was able to say it. He laughed, "and why is that funny?" I asked. "This is what I expected initially" he said through his laughter. I pouted then realized it was pretty funny. "I guess you're right" I said. "So tell me, what brought you to LA, there must be something more than just an internship, because you said it fell through. What's keeping you here?" He asked.
I stopped, that conversation is way too heavy for a car ride. "Uh, at the moment, you" I shrugged. Technically it was true, right? "Me? Oh you mean the "internship" I gave you?" He asked using air quotes. I nodded, "where are you from? You have an accent but I can't place it" he said staring at me a moment while driving. It make me nervous and made me think of driving with Keith. I shook the thought and looked at him, "Boston, er, near Boston but no one ever knows where the town is so it's easier to say Boston" I explained. "I see, Boston is fun. Always a good time there" he grinned obviously remembering some good times. I smiled, "what else? Family? Boyfriend? School?" He asked. "Uh just me and my parents, Rachel and Paul" I answered. Boyfriend? Ugh I don't want to bring that up. "I'm going to school for music production and engineering as well as performance and a minor in songwriting" I said smiling. I'm still not sure about the performance aspect, if I ever go back that will be dropped. "I see, so you're a music lover" he smiled. I nodded, "and the boyfriend?" He asked.
I bit my lip, "long story, not really car ride material" I said softly. "Oh yea sure, we don't have to talk about it" he said dropping it. I was grateful for that. "Oh uh, how old are you?" He asked suddenly curious. "21 at least for another few months" I said smiling. "Oh really when's your birthday?" He asked. "March 18" I said smiling waiting for his reaction. I always loved celebrating my birthday. I would always sing happy birthday to Adam, while everyone sang it to me, before blowing out my candles. My wish, always to meet him. "No way!" He smiled. I nodded and laughed a little. "Well Gianna, my birthday twin, here we are" he said pulling up to a smallish looking house, well small by LA's standards. I bit my lip, "come on, my mother is far less scary than me..." He said getting out of the car. I got out too, "...sometimes" he finished. I bit my lip again. "Gianna, don't worry, I'll make sure she's nice" he said reassuring me. I sighed and nodded "okay" I said and followed him to the door. He pulled out his key and walked in, "ma?" He called out. "In the kitchen hunny" she called back. He smiled and took my hand and led me through the house. "Hey mom" he smiled and hugged and kissed her. "Hi sweetie" she said smiling up at her much taller son. "And who is this?" She asked. "I'm Gianna" I said softly. "She's my new intern" Adam explained. "Oh so you're the lovely lady I talked to today" she said. "That's me" I smiled. "Very nice to meet you dear" she said. "Sit sit" she said ushering us into seats. "Michael get in here" she called out. Another taller man walked in, his hair lighter than Adam's yet they looked similar.
He smiled, "is this another girlfriend bro?" He asked hugging his brother. "Shut up mikey, this is Gianna, my intern" he said. "Hi" I said softly. "I see, and since when do you take interns home to dinner?" He asked. "Since we were still working and mom insisted I come for dinner, besides I would've felt terrible leaving her to rule out the horrible take out places around here," he said and I blushed. "Oh where're you from?" He asked. "Michael, no interrogating at the dinner table" Adam's mom said as she set the food down. "It was a question," he said. "It's okay Mrs. Levine, I don't mind" I said. "Patsy dear, no need to be formal" she said and hurried back to the counter to get more food. "I'm from Boston" I said looking at Michael. "Ooh say something with an r" he said pronouncing to perfectly. "Pahk the cah in the hahvahd yahd and give the guahd a quahtah" I said and he burst out laughing with Adam. "Boys! Now why is that funny?" Patsy asked as she finally sat. "Did you hear her?" Michael asked. She leaned over and hit Michael on the back of the head, "cut it out!" She said and then pointed to Adam who stopped immediately. "It's okay Patsy really, it does sound funny," I admitted, "but not funnier than me trying to pronounce my r's (ah's), I sound like a pirate" I laughed. She smiled some, "alright" she said.
