*Adam's pov

I stretched and yawned as I got out of the car and headed into 222 records. I just opened the business a month ago and I was still working things out. Like getting a staff to help me with everything, but for now I was content doing it all myself. *Ring* expect when the phone rings constantly. I groaned answering it, "222 records, what's up?" I said sounding professional. "Hi Jesse, yes the phone works." I rolled my eyes, he was having way too much fun calling here. "Listen I gotta go Rozzi just walked in, talk to you later" I said seeing her and I hung up. "Ready to make beautiful music?!" I asked excitedly. This was going to be the first recording ever done here and I was thrilled. "Let's go Levine! I'm ready!" She said and raced into the booth. I loved it, you could feel her excitement. We recorded 4 songs before taking a break to change some things on the next song. I smiled and heard the bell notifying me someone came in, "be right back Roz" I said and ran to the lobby. "Hey there, how can I help you?" I asked the young girl as she walked down the short hallway. "Hi um I just need directions, I'm a little lost" she admitted. "Yea.." *ring ring* "my god! Sorry follow!" I said and led her back to the desk. "222 records, what's up?" I said. "Yes okay, wait I thought I sent that... No but, yea okay later today, thanks" I hung up. "Sorry you said you needed directions? Where to miss?" I asked. "Sorry where are my manners, Adam Levine" I smiled. "Uh Gianna" she said shyly. She handed me a paper with the address on it. "I loved that house as a kid" I smiled and hand wrote some directions for her. The phone rang again. "Ignore it" the machine picked it up and I handed her the directions.

"Anything else I can do for you?" I asked looking at the girl. The incessant ringing started again. It was seriously driving me crazy. "Uh no thanks" she said smiling. "Alright, well it was very nice to meet you Gianna" I said and the ringing started again. Her eyes widened and she finally walked around the desk and answered, "222 records, how may I help you?" She said sweetly. "He's a bit busy, may I take a message?" She took the paper from the pad I used moments ago and scribbled a note. "Of course, have a nice day" she said smiling and hung up. She handed me the note, "you mom wants to know if you're going over for dinner, and she's shocked you finally hired someone" she laughed. "You better hire someone fast it would be a shame to disappoint her" she giggle some more. My jaw was still hanging open staring. "Do you want a job? Because that" I said pointing to the phone, "will drive me to drink, not like I don't do it anyway" I chuckled. "Uh, I don't think I'll be here long" she said looking down. "Oh I uh just assumed you had a house here..." "No I uh, I mean I own it, it was a gift. I was only supposed to be here for an internship but it fell through" she explained and looked up, "I guess I could stay for a while, until you find someone more permanent" she offered. I smiled, "that would be a big help but I don't want to inconvenience you or anything" I said.

She shrugs, "school wasn't expecting me back is semester anyway, and I guess this could be like an internship" she said seemingly justifying her time here. "Great!" I said happily, "when can you start?" I asked. "Whenever you need me" she said. "Perfect I needed you a month ago" I joked. She giggled and slipped out of her sweater and sat down. "So I'm just answering the phone?" She asked. "For now, I'm gonna finish up with Rozzi and then I'll go over everything with you and give you a tour" I said smiling. "Okay" she said and hit play on the messages so the flashing light stopped and wrote the message down and pinned it on the cork board behind her. I smiled leaving her to think, and get settled. "Adam is that a girl that just walked in?" Rozzi teased. "Maybe" I shrugged. "Oh my god, you like her!" She said playfully hitting my arm. I love Rozzi, it's hard not to like her, she's so happy and fun to be around. "Why would I like her? I only know her first name" I responded looking over the notes she made on her next song. "It is a girl! I knew it! You haven't seemed this happy in a long time!" She gushed. "You've only known me a month" I reminded her. "Yes but I was a fan long before that!" She challenged. "Is she cute?" She asked. "I don't know" I shrugged. "Don't lie to me Levine! Is she cute?" She asked again. "Fine mother, yes" I said acting childish. "Ask her out!" She insisted. "What? No.. I just gave her a job" I said and handed her, her papers back, "now get in there I have the next track" I said stopping the conversation. Maybe she was right, it's been hard without Anne with me but I'm happy being single. We fell apart and it was too tense, I wasn't happy. I sighed and started the track. Maybe I could try, not now though, it's way too soon, I thought and left it at that.

We recorded the last song and I sent her home. "Night Roz, see you tomorrow to finish up" I said walking her to the door. I locked the door behind her and headed back to the lobby to see Gianna. "So what do you think?" I asked watching her. "I don't know how you managed this phone before, it never stops ringing" she said and handed me a stack of notes. "Shawn said he had to talk you about touring, your mom called again and was asking about Anne, Jesse called and told me to tell you he was just trying to annoy you, and well the rest are there" she said stammering. "Relax Gianna, no need to be nervous" I chuckled. "It's hard, you're Adam Levine, I didn't expect to see you at a distance, let alone walk right into your studio and meet you and get a job working here," she said honestly. "Well I must say you didn't freak out and scream and throw yourself at me, so that was different" I chuckled. "I bet, and thank you, this might just be what I need " she said. "Need to?" I asked. "Start over" she admitted but left it at that. "Starting over is good, I'm doing the same" I said smiling, and the phone rang again. "I bet it's my mom" I chuckled. She rolled her eyes, "222 records, how may I help you?" She said just as sweetly as before. "One moment" she said shaking her head. "Your mom" she said amazed I knew. "She keeps calling until I answer" I shrugged. "Hi mom... Yes I'll be there, I have a couple more things to do.... Yes I know it's already 6:30" I said and looked at the clock shocked. "Yes, uh... Not Anne" I said rubbing my neck. "I'll explain when I get there.... Mom... Mom... Patsy!" I groaned, "mom she broke up with me a month ago. Yea exactly why I didn't go home for New Years.... Uh huh. See you soon" I said hanging up.

Gianna was twirling her hair and biting her lip. I'm assuming a nervous habit of hers. I smiled, "how about a quick tour and we can finish later?" I asked. She looked at the clock again, "sure" she said making it obvious her plans were ruined. "Later doesn't mean tonight Gianna, I'm no slave driver" I chuckled. She shook her head, "no tonight is fine, I barely sleep anyway" she shrugged. "Have fun at dinner" she said grabbing her coat. I bit my lip, "wanna join me? Being new here you probably don't even know the good take out places" I smirked. "I... I never said I was new here, just that I was a little lost" she said eyeing me. "The shoes, it looks like salt that goes down to melt the snow, is covering them. That doesn't happen here, at least not that I remember" I said smiling. "The accent gave you away too, and the "I won't be here long" thing" I said. She blushed, "oh right" she said softly. "Come on my mom made enough for a week of left overs there's plenty I know" I chuckled. She nodded and followed me out, "do you wanna follow me, or I can take you back later to get your car" I offered. "I uh, walked" she said. I shook my head, "come on" I said leading her to my car.
