~Chapter 7~
(Edited/Add-on)

The sounds of screams surround me like a whirlwind of chaos in this void of darkness. I cover my ears to prevent them from getting inside my head, but they just crawl through the gaps of my fingers to torment me.

"STOP!" I scream at them, but it just magnifies the chaos. Tears stream down my face as I curl up in a ball and jam my fingers in my ears to block out the screams. "Please just stop," I whimper out into the darkness.

But they don't.

They only transform into the mocking laughter of my step-mother. Her laughter fades into McCoy's then to Jade's until I'm surrounded once again inside a chaos of noise. I begin to claw at my ears to try to rid myself of the sound but it just makes the laughter that much louder.

I can feel myself falling more and more into the darkness around me until, finally, I start to hear the laughter fade little by little the farther I go.

Numbness takes over my limbs and I feel a sense of peace when the chaos of noise finally dies away.

This voice deep inside yells at me to fight the darkness off, but I don't listen to it.

The darkness is peaceful.

I let myself sink further away from the light, and feel the numbness complete its path through my body.

"Oy!" I hear Meanie's voice say to me from the void. I watch as a hand appears from the darkness and grabs hold of my arm. It pulls me away from the void I was slowly sinking into and I catch a glimpse of bright blue eyes before I'm being pull into a familiar chest. "What the fuck are you doing, Trouble?" He growls at me. The feeling of all-consuming joy crashes into me and I press myself more into Gabriel's embrace.

"Meanie." I sigh into his chest as the numb feeling drains away from my body. I wrap my arms around Gabriel's medium build body and breathe in his new calming scent of orange blossom and lavender. "I don't know what to do anymore, Meanie," I whisper into his chest. "I'm scared."

"I know you are, Trouble." He runs his fingers through my hair. "But that's never stopped you before." I look up from Meanie's chest and gasp in surprise when I find my North Star the one looking back at me.

"And you can't let it stop you now," North says to me as he picks me up to engulf me in his hard-muscled arms. "Don't give up, Sang Baby," he pleads with me. I wrap myself around him and bury my face in his neck. The scent of musk is slowly swept away by the powerful salty smell of the ocean and I pull back to find Silas's dark eyes looking at me now.

"You're stronger than this, Aggele Mou," he says as he leans down to place a soft kiss on my forehead. As he pulls back, I watch a fire ignite within his dark eyes until I'm looking at Victor's beautiful smoldering ones. He slides me down his body to set me on my feet again and reaches up to hold my face with both of his hands.

"Princess." Victor's baritone voice envelopes me as he lightly traces my lips with one of his thumbs, "You're been through so much within your short life and you were able to stay on your feet. Don't let this be the thing that knocks you down." He pulls one hand away from my face and I watch him reach down to grab one of mine. I feel Victor's long and graceful fingers change into Nathan's strong calloused ones. He brings my hand up and takes my index finger into his mouth.

"Peanut." I hear him mumble around my finger before taking it out of his mouth and kisses it. "You know what a wise man once told me?" Confused, I shake my head at him and he sends me a goofy-looking smile. "As you think, so shall you become."
