JASMINE'S POV
"Try it again!" I pleaded with Destiny as we faced the only door in the entire room. We had been trying to bust down the door for fifteen minutes to no avail. Destiny shot me a death glare, holding her somewhat throbbing shoulder.
"Why don't you try it if its so easy to KNOCK DOWN A DAMN DOOR!" She barked back at me "My shoulder feels like its about to fucking explode!!"
I groaned and moved her out of the way. I gave it a go. BAM!!! Nothing, not even a scratch. I tried again. BAM!!!! Still nothing! My shoulder radiated heat from the pain that was beginning to surge through it.
"God dammit!!" I cursed rubbing my shoulder "That hurt like hell."
I sighed as I sat on the fancily decorated bed sheets, feeling as though all hope was draining from my mind and body. This was hopeless. We were going to be beaten, or worse killed.
Destiny went to the balcony window and looked out. "Well we could maybe take one of the curtains and try climbing down the side of the tower..."
"Destiny," I interrupted, putting my hand up " stop. It's fucking hopeless, we're screwed no matter what we attempt to do to escape. I just can't believe I dragged you into this mess. You and Ash, even Jack, don't deserve this. I'm sorry for the pain all this is gonna cause."
She scoffed loudly "Jaz stop it!!" I looked her with a stunned and confused expression. "This is not your fault at all! Its that motherfucking jackass's, who can't seem to get a hint. That day that we met, that you and Ashton met, that was fate! Something was telling you that we would be here for you no matter what, we'd be here for better or for worse! You've become like a sister that I never had to me and to Ash...." she stopped a moment as if she couldn't find the words to say "You don't know how much he loves you. If you jump off a cliff, he'll try to save you and if he can't he would die himself! Your a Guerin now Jaz. Forever and always!"
No words could be said from her speech, I felt like my heart was about to explode in pain and joy. Pain, because we were probably about to go through heel, and Joy, because I finally felt cared for in a 'immediate' family.
I stood up and in one stride brought Destiny into a tight hug. She seemed stunned at my sudden gesture but hugged back with what I felt to be a smile.
"Thank you." I muttered, my voice breaking as a tear escaped me.
"We'll always be here." she told me. "Always."
Our sisterly moment was interrupted by the sound of the doorknob jiggling. Someone was trying to get in, and it didn't sound like it was our rescue party.
I looked at Destiny with a somewhat scared look and she gave me a reassuring one. Whatever happened, we would handle it. Together.
Finally the door opened up with a slam and a bang. My grip on Destiny increased when I saw the person standing in the doorway within a crooked smile. His Natural blond hair made him seem like an angel but I knew he was quite the opposite. There, standing in the doorway, was my tall, muscular, and very abusive ex boyfriend, Kris. I still had nightmares about him from time to time. When we 'went out' he would punch me, kick me, force me to give him oral, and just beat me senseless. I was only 14 at the time, I didn't think I had anyone to turn to.
"Jaz...?" Destiny asked, seeing my now panicked expression as Kris took a step toward us.
"G...Get him away!" I screamed. The flashbacks that reappeared in my mind were like hidden scars that were open again
He stepped right in front of us and gave me an evil look. "Miss me?" he asked venomously before he grabbed me by my collar, proceeded to slam me into the wall.
