When I finally pull into the parking lot of our apartment, the boys have begun to bombard me with questions about Destiny, Ashton, and the dinner tonight.

"How old are they??"

"Around 17 like me, Troy."

"Does Ashton like soccer as much as I do??"

"Maybe, Brice."

"What's for dinner?"

"I don't know guys."

Of course they aren't the only ones wondering about tonight. I, myself was questioning everything.

"What are the boys gonna wear tonight?" I think to myself, suddenly going into a panic "Should I dress them up casually or formal? Wait, what am I gonna wear???"

I shake that last thought away from my head, a little disgusted. I'm going over to make friends with Ashton, not to win a date with him on some kind of TV show!

After mulling it over in my head I finally decide on our outfits as I help the boys out of their carseats and we head upsairs. We would go semi-formal. No dresses or skirts for me(because again: NOT TRYING TO GET A DATE!). And definitely no dressy shirts or ties for the boys. Shorts are definitely out of the question because they are way too casual.

As we reach our floor, the boys run ahead to our apartment. When they reach the door they are practically jumping in high anticipation. I laugh and unlock the door for them. As soon as I actually open the door, the boys dash inside and drop their things by the kitchen counter and run into their room to play with their coloring books and toys that had either come with us from the orphanage or that Aunt Jackie had sent last Christmas. It's only 4 o'clock so I don't blame them for wanting to goof off for a little while.

I shut the door behind me and head straight to the fridge to fix lunch for the three of us. A grilled cheese for me, a ham and cheddar sandwich for Brice, and a turkey and swiss on rye for Troy.

When I finish their sandwiches , I hear the patter of little feet as the two race into the kitchen and sit at our tiny dining table. I smile and chuckle a little, picking up their plates and sitting their sandwiches in front of them. As soon as I sit the plates in front of them, they started scarfing down their food.

"Hey!" I scolded "Slow down and chew your food! Where are your manners??" I pick up my own sandwich and take bite. I have to hold myself back from eating all of it at once. "Besides, you know it's delicious!"

They nod and giggle before they resume eating slower than they were before, chewing slowly. I nod approvingly and begin to eat my food again. As soon as I take my second bite, I realize just how hungry I am. I finish the sandwich in almost no time flat, the boys just finishing behind me.

They climb off their chairs and run off to play some more. I check the time and sigh a little impatiently, 5:07. Two hours until we go over for dinner.

Feeling bored out of my mind for the first time all day, I grab my favorite book 'Shatter Me' by Tahereh Mafi, and begin to read it. I have read the book over a million times since I first got the paperback from my uncle when I was 15. But it still is too good of a book to pass up. Although, I do have to say my other favorite book 'Something, maybe' is just as good.

By the time I have gotten to the 5th chapter, it is about 6:37. I slide my bookmark into the book, marking my page, before placing the book on its designated shelf, and head over to the closet to begin to prepare for dinner.

I begin to search through the clothes, tossing aside some ideas as I go along, until finally i decide on our outfits. For Troy, I lay out a green plaid shirt with dark blue almost black jeans with his favorite neon green crocs. For Brice, I pick out his tuxedo shirt(it's a tuxedo print on a shirt, completely adorable) with blue jeans and his black Sketchers. For me, I decide to stay with a simple light blue blouse with a pair of loose fit acid-washed jeans and my blue flats.
