The first part of Kissgate Series

***

Taylor's PR team was giving her a briefing for her next stunt. Apparently they had found her another suitor, the lead vocalist of The 1975 band. In exchange of her agreeing to the plan, they allowed her to go to this band's concert Karlie, and of course along with a couple of her other friends. Karlie and her friends were getting ready for the show, doing the final touch up while chatting noisily.Tree was still talking to Taylor, but she tuned her out after some time. She was too busy watching Karlie who looked especially radiant tonight. Taylor smiled to herself, thanking her lucky star for bringing this special girl into her life. Karlie, who seemed always aware of Taylor's gaze, glanced her way. They shared a knowing sweet smile which warmed Taylor's heart. It had been going for several months now and it hadn't getting old, these stolen looks and secret little smiles. After breaking her heart over her last ex, Taylor had never guessed she would feel this strongly over a woman again. That she would be falling this fast, this hard.

"Taylor," Tree clicked her tongue impatiently, "are you even listening to me?"

"Of course," Taylor answered automatically.

Tree sighed. "Just don't cause any troubles tonight, okay?"

"Relax, Tree." Taylor grinned at her publicist, patting her back. "What's the worse could happen, really? We're just going to a concert!"

"Well, with you, I'll never know," Tree muttered while she led the group into the awaiting limo.

The band had already started by the time they got into the VIP section. It was on the raised platform, looking straight to the stage. The other girls scrambled after they arrived, leaving Taylor with Karlie. Taylor appreciated their sensitivity as every alone time she had with Karlie was precious to her. Because of their demanding job, both Karlie and Taylor had to travel around the world everytime. It was really hard to find a free time between their packed schedules. The moment like this was hard to come and ended all too quickly. Maybe one day they would get tired of each other or being used to the distance, but not now. Now, Taylor wanted to be with Karlie all the time.

"Hey, you." Karlie said softly, nudging Taylor with her shoulder.

"Hey," Taylor pressed closer to her girl.

It was dark inside, except of the flashing spotlights directed to the stage. It was easy to pretend that they were just a mere part of the crowd, oblivious to whatever which was going around them. For once, Taylor wanted to pretend that the whole world wasn't watching her. That she could be whatever she wanted, doing whatever she wanted. A waitress came by, offering the pair an impressive array of liquor. Taylor grabbed two shots of vodka mix and gave one to Karlie. She raised her glass.

"To one hell of a night!"

Karlie laughed and followed her lead, clinking her glass against Taylor's. They downed the drink in one sip then snatched another one from a passing waitress. Taylor wanted to feel lightweight, careless even. It was such a fresh change from her usual state of distress and paranoia. Karlie only smiled indulgently at her, pacing her drinks as evidently someone needed to be in their right state of mind here.

"What's going into you tonight?" Karlie laughed as she watched Taylor did her fifth shot.

Taylor just gave her a gleeful yet intoxicated smile. She put her glass onto the table and went over to the steel railing to watch the show. Karlie followed behind her, carefully guiding Taylor to prevent her from bumping into someone. Taylor liked the weight of Karlie's hand over her waist. Well, pretty much anywhere near her body, to be honest. She pulled Karlie's arm to wrap around her tighter. They leaned against the railing side by side, enjoying the upbeat music from the band.

That Matt Healy guy was actually really attractive. It was a shame, really, that Taylor didn't feel even a slight attraction toward him. Everything would be much simpler if she did, Taylor thought. Then Karlie demanded her full attention again, as she moved her hand lower on her body. She still felt shivers whenever Karlie touched her. It was the damnest thing, really.

"I like this version of Taylor," Karlie whispered seductively into her ears.

"Oh, really?" Taylor slurred her words. "What about the regular version of Taylor? Don't you like her too?"

"Oh, you bet," Karlie growled, pressing her head on top of Taylor's. Taylor thanked god that she decided to not wear heels tonight. The height difference felt awesome.

"Whatever version of you, they are my favorite ones."

"Hmmm," Taylor hummed contentedly as Karlie moved downward to nuzzle her neck with soft kisses.

"Sorry. I've got carried away," Karlie muttered, pulling away from their embrace. Even though the VIP section was away from public's eyes, it was still dangerous for them to be this affectionate.

"Don't be. Please do continue," Taylor whined, missing the heat of Karlie around her body.

"We can't, baby. Not here. It's not safe," Karlie said patiently, patting Taylor's cheek.

"I don't care."

"Maybe not tonight. But you will be tomorrow."

Taylor locked her gaze onto Karlie's. "I will never regret being with you."

"I know, baby. I know."

The band started to play a familiar tune. As the night closing by, they played their hit songs one by one. Taylor didn't know much of their songs, so she was thrilled when they started 'Girls' intro. She turned to Karlie and shouted excitedly.

"Oh my god! I love this song!"

"Me too," Karlie shouted back, then added with a lower voice. "Since it's the only song I know."

Taylor launched into a full karaoke mode, shouting the lyrics on top of her lungs and dancing along the catchy rhythm. She went on her tiptoe to wrap her arms around Karlie. Karlie indulged the intoxicated Taylor, dancing along the song with her. Taylor, who didn't give a damn about discretion anymore, went as far as touching her boobs and other private parts. Karlie gulped hard as her mind immediately went south.

"Oh, boy," she hissed.

She didn't have the chance to pull away. Taylor grabbed her by the cheeks and launched a wet kiss on her cheek. Karlie was both relieved and disappointed that at least Taylor missed her lips.

"Are you going to break my heart, baby?"

It was being said lightly, yet laced with real fears and insecurities. Karlie looped her arm around Taylor and laced their fingers together. Going into this relationship, Karlie knew that it wasn't going to be easy. Even if they were ready to be honest about their relationship, there were still unbelievably tight schedules and mountains of responsibilities. Dating someone as amazing as Taylor wouldn't be a smooth ride. Karlie knew it right from the start and embraced it. If it was the price to pay, to be in her company, then it was a small price.

"Never in a million year," Karlie answered.

"I'm afraid that it's you who'd break mine," then she added inwardly.
