The sixth part of High School AU Series

Karlie was furious. That night was the last time she talked to Taylor. She had been avoiding her like a plague ever since. She turned the other way whenever Karlie tried to approach her at the hallway. She didn't reply any of her messages or calls. She pretended that nothing had ever happened between them and it hurt. Karlie's ego was tattered and her heart ached. She missed her, that uptight girl of hers. The fact that Taylor could throw her away this easily just made it worse. Without even a word, just like that.

A week of silence and avoidance had passed by and Karlie was fed up with the way Taylor was treating her. She deserved some explanations and it would never happen unless she did something. With a newfound determination, Karlie formed a plan.

On Monday, Karlie walked into Taylor's class and dropped her bag on the empty seat beside her. Taylor looked startled to find Karlie in her class. Her teacher was already here and now looking at Karlie with an annoyed expression.

"Excuse me, miss. But I believe this is not your class. "

" Well, it's only two months before graduation and I decided that I want to know more about," Karlie glanced at the white board in front of the class, "the Baroque musical era or whatever it is."

"But-"

Karlie held up her hands and gave the teacher a pleading look. "Please, ma'am. Just humor me?"

"Fine. Just don't make any troubles, okay?"

"Of course," Karlie smiled sweetly before altering her gaze back at Taylor again. "We need to talk."

"Not now, Karlie." Taylor hissed without even  looking.

"Well, when then? You didn't reply my messages or answering my calls. You have been avoiding me for a whole week without any explanations."

"Maybe you should just take a hint," Taylor replied in a cold tone.

Ouch. Karlie wasn't expecting that. "So that's how you want to play this out, huh?"

Taylor didn't respond her, keeping her gaze straight. Though Karlie could see the blush creeping up her ears.

"If you don't want to talk now, fine. I'll just keep coming to your classes until you give me explanations. Your choice."

Taylor looked like she wasn't paying any attention to what Karlie said. She kept her lips tight as she listened to the teacher rambling about something. Then she let out a long sigh and finally turned to face Karlie.

"Fine. Meet me at the parking lot after school."

"That's all I ask," Karlie stared at Taylor, but the girl was already looking back at the whiteboard. It seemed like they were back to square one.

Karlie waited for Taylor at the empty parking lot. It was way past school hours and it seemed like she was the last person in there. She had been waiting for 3 hours and there was no signs of Taylor. She took a deep drag of her cigarette and let it out slowly. She was smoking heavily again, even though she had made a great progress of lessening her nicotine consumption when she was hanging out with Taylor. Now it seemed like there was no point of holding back.

"You're still here," Taylor said as she approached her in careful manner, like a frightened animal.

"You're late," Karlie said coolly, hurt was laced thickly in her voice. "I am the one who's supposed to be perpetually late."
