Goblin ep 16

The episode starts with the Goblin asking Eun Tak to be his bride, which is graciously (more like tearfully) answered with a nod of the head and a yes.

And it has been determined that she can see the ghosts once again!

The Goblin visits Eun Tak at work and brings her down to eat. They meet Deok Hwa as well. It seems that Deok Hwa has become more mature.

Meanwhile, Eun Tak and the Goblin finds wedding dresses/suits; they begin to prepare for their beautiful wedding.

During Eun Tak's job at the radio station, she comes across Sunny's farewell letter. It is then broadcasted, and Eun Tak, the Grim Reaper, and the Goblin listen. 

Sunny leaves a farewell letter. They all realize that Sunny remembered everything and is leaving for good. And the reason is finally given. She is giving punishment not only towards the grim reaper but herself as well.

That night, Sunny decides to leave after counting to 50 (on the bridge that the Grim Reaper and Sunny met). And with K-drama logic, the grim reaper shows up, crying. Sunny asks to hug the grim reaper one last time. Thus, they hug one last time, or so they say. And finally, they part. The grim reaper cries at home as the Goblin with fine ears listens.

** However, what we need to remember is that the goblin envisioned the grim reaper and sunny laughing together. So, we'll have to see what will happen with this foreshadowing.

It is also revealed that those who take their own life are reborn as grim reapers. This is essentially considered a punishment. However, this punishment ends when the grim reaper begins to yearn for life.

Meanwhile, Eun Tak's aunts continue to abuse Eun Tak. It is important to note that the aunt is now a ghost (died on the streets). However, Eun Tak's good ghost friend helps her and takes the aunt away.

Afterward, Eun Tak and the Goblin finally gets married!! They have an after dinner along with the grim reaper, Deok Hwa, and Deok Hwa's advisor. This scene is super funny because the advisor is shocked with the Goblin's and grim reaper's careless use of magic. And of course, the Goblin and Eun Tak acts all lovey Dovey.

Question- It might be personal, but since we are on the topic of romance, how is everyone's romance? Whenever I watch Kdrama, I think, "Wow, I wish that could happen to me.." Love is so magical, but does K-drama love really happen? Surely not, right? Every day, I think about spring time. It must be nice to have a crush or a first love. But those things never seem to happen to me. At school, I walk through the hallways full of couples holding each other. What about you? What do you think? I'm really curious how it really works in real life.

Back to K-drama world...

Afterward, the grim reaper predicts Eun Tak's unpredictable death as a sacrifice. Eun Tak sacrifices her life to save a group of kids. Essentially, fate changed because of the choice of a human, Eun Tak.

The Grim reaper grievously takes Eun Tak to drink the tea of oblivion. The goblin hurriedly finds Eun Tak. Wretched, he holds Eun Tak in his arms. Eun Tak promises to come back to find him in the next life, as this was her first out of 4 lives (Everyone has a total of 4 lives). Next, the grim reaper offers the tea of oblivion; however, Eun Tak refuses it.

Eun Tak isn't the only one who is coming to an end, but the grim reaper and Sunny is coming to an end as well. The grim reaper's punishment has finally come to an end. With one last soul, the Grim reaper is shocked to see Sunny's name on the death card, his last job.

At the last job, the Grim reaper gives Sunny her ring back (from her past life, at the very beginning of the story). The goblin also meets Sunny to bid farewell. They exchange a few words together. Then, together, the grim reaper and sunny hold hands as they walk towards the afterlife (without drinking the tea of oblivion). And in the end, the goblin is once again left alone.

The next scenes are, I believe, are a couple years later. The Goblin comes across a filming production, where the actors sit in the car. They are revealed to be Sunny and the grim reaper in their afterlife. As actors, their love blooms. Starting with a rocky start, they clearly fall in love and begins dating. Ahh, so cute!!! This is the part where the Goblin predicts their happy ever after. Not to mention they begin kissing. Ah, how romantic+a million hearts. Meanwhile, the Goblin meets Eun Tak in her next life, who remembers her past life. And thus, the ends the drama with all the pieces connected back to each other and a happy ever after!

*** Author's note:

A few things I am confused about...

1) Why does Eun Tak take the same appearance as she did in her previous life? Same goes for the grim reaper and Sunny?

2) The Goblin did not change in appearance, so does that mean his immortality did not come to an end? Then what will happen after Eun Tak's second death?

3) How come Eun Tak still remembers everything? Sure, she did not drink the tea of oblivion, but neither did the grim reaper and sunny. Hence, in similar reason, should the grim reaper and sunny not remember everything as well?

Questions...question..so many remained unswered..
