An hour after Sean left there was a knock at the door. I just laid there on the couch not making any movement to get up at all. The person knocked again, and then again.
"Rose I know you're in there! So get your skinny little butt up and come open this door!" Stella screamed from outside. I sighed got up and looked in the mirror saw my tear stained face and wiped them away as best I could. I went to the door took a deep breath and opened it. "Oh God! Rose honey! Maya it's worse than we thought grab the chocolate! Honey come here." Stella said dropping the grocery bags and pulling me into a hug. I started crying and didn't stop for hours.
We were all piled on the couch watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. Maya was eating a chocolate bar, Clair was eating pizza and I was eating mint oreos. The movie ended and I was watching the credits roll by without actually seeing them. Thinking about Sean and not wanting to.
"So Maya when did you get back from France?" I asked popping another oreo into my mouth.
"Early this morning. We got home and all fell asleep and didn't wake up until about 6 o'clock." She answered.
"Lucky you got to miss the stupid first day introduce yourself activities." Stella said finishing off the last piece of pizza. We fell into silence again and the thoughts of Sean came back.
"Rose? You alright?" Maya asked breaking me away from my unwanted thoughts.
"Yep. I'm good. Thanks for coming over with food and watching movies with me." I said back putting a hopefully content smile on my face.
"Are you going to tell us about what happened with Sean?" Stella asked.
"We kissed and he was an ass. That's all there is to it. You guys should get going there's school tomorrow."
"Are you sure, we can stay a bit longer if you want."
"No it's OK. You guys have homework and I need some sleep. I'll see you tomorrow at school."
"Ro, tomorrow is Friday. Are you sure you want to go to school, the football game, and Sean's party?"
Frack! I had forgotten. I didn't want to face them, but I didn't want to stay home and end up thinking about Sean all day either. "Yep I'm good with it. I'll see you tomorrow."
"OK sweetie see you tomorrow." Stella said dragging Maya to the door.
"Bye Rose." Maya yelled to me from outside as I shut the door and locked it. Not even a minute after they left-
*Ring Ring*
Couldn't I get any peace and quiet? Ever? I just wanted to be left alone so I could curl up and possibly die...maybe...depends on who was calling. So I picked up the phone.
"Hello Sweet pea! How's school? How's your brother?" Yep I wanted to curl up and die...and right now would be a great time to do so.
"Good Mom. Clark is good, he's doing really well in football. Where are you? I thought you and Dad were coming home for his first game?" I said annoyed. My parents never came home when they said they would. Actually they were rarely ever in the country.
"Oh good, good. Um, well I know we said that, but-"
"No Mom, you promised." I said not giving her time to come up with an excuse that was only valid in her mind.
"Yes dear I know, but we can't make it home, not for awhile, we're in Scotland right now." And she came up with one anyway.
"Fine whatever. Tell Dad I hope he's happy he's missing his sons first high school football game. I know Clark will be thrilled." I said sarcasm and contempt dripping from every word.
