It was Friday night and I was getting ready for the game. I put on a black and white t-shirt, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, my black bomber and black ankle boots. It's a good thing tonight's game was a black out because I wasn't feeling colorful at the moment.
"At least I look good." I said to my cat Maleficent; she doesn't like people, or anything for that matter she's kind of a self centered cat which I should have expected that after naming her Maleficent though, while staring at myself in the mirror. Still trying to figure out if I wanted to go or not. Then there was a knock on the door. That would be Maya and Stella. "No turning back now." I sighed and went to open the door.
"You ready to go?" Stella asked wearing a pair of jeans and our school sweatshirt, she looked really good. I envied her that, she looked good in anything. She could make a potato sack look good.
"Yep just let me grab my phone." I said grabbing my phone, some money and house key shoving it all in my pockets. I hated purses they were so inconvenient and more akin to black holes. We all got into Stella's mom's car and went to the game.

"I can't believe we won!" Maya half yelled half squealed.
"Why not? We were favored! There was almost no chance we were gonna lose." I stood staring at her.
"But it was such a great game!"
"Yes it was an absolutely beautiful game."
"Especially the last half when we walked all over them." Stella said high fiving a couple of football players that walked past. She was the sporty one in our group, she's on the varsity basketball team, and on the soccer team. "They got pummelled."
"Who got pummelled?" Mike asked putting his arms around my waist. There were no butterflies. No tingling feeling like with Sean. There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. But I smiled anyway I needed to try.
"The other team." Stella answered.
"OH yeah they definitely did." He said smiling.
"You got some pretty applause worthy touchdowns." I said smiling up at him.
"Thanks although that last one I almost tripped myself 5 yards away from the end zone."
"Yeah we kinda noticed." Maya said.
"Really? Well that's disappointing I thought I hid it well."
"No you didn't everyone saw." Stella said smiling.
"Damn. The guys said it was barely noticeable."
"They lied."
"Apparently. Well to save the last shreds of my dignity I'm going to leave. Rose you ready?"
"Yep. See ya Stella, bye Maya."
"Bye Rose. I'm gonna take Maya home then I'll see you at the party." Stella yelled to me while walking to her car. I turned to Mike and smiled, then we walked to his car. Th drive to Sean's was quiet, but not awkward quiet just quiet. When we got there the party was in full swing, this was surprising since the game just ended.
"Sean has outdone himself yet again." Mike said getting out of the car.
"Yep I think it might be bigger than last years screw finals party. Although it is early. Could turn out to be lame." I said pocketing my phone and climbing out of the car.
"I don't think any of Sean's parties has ever been lame."
"Not true. 14th birthday party, it was a pool party no one got in the pool and everyone was gone by 7."
