"We stand here today on the precipice of the future. It's not a distant reality anymore. It begins here. It begins today.
We began high school as children, but we're leaving here as adults. We've completed a basic education that will serve as the platform we use to launch ourselves into our futures. Some of us will go on to college, others will go straight into the work force, but each of us will travel our own path.
No matter where we go or what we do, there are challenges ahead of us. What I'm asking from each of you, and from myself, is to meet those challenges straight on with your head held high and your heart wide open. It's not enough to simply try to get by in life. That doesn't move the world forward. You must try to excel in everything you do; strive for excellence in every task, large or small.
Although it may not be easy to see, every accomplishment you achieve is added to the world's accomplishments. Your individual successes benefit society as a whole because when you succeed, you lighten the burden on your fellow man. When you succeed, you are in a position to give rather than take.
Imagine if every individual lived up to his or her own potential. Think about how amazing that would be, and how much better off the world would be. Now imagine if just half of those individuals lived up to their potential. The world would still be an awesome place. If even 1/4 of those individuals worked to make their lives successful, they could still make some amazing contributions to society.
Well, we may not have the power to inspire the entire world to strive for success, but we do have the power to try to achieve it for ourselves. My challenge to each of you, and to myself, is to do all that you can do to reach your full potential. If each of the 300 students in this graduating class is able to do that, just imagine the effect that would have. The future is truly in our hands, so let's make the most of it. Thank you"
I clapped as my best friend Erika finished her speech. Yes, I was able to get caught up in all my credits. Just as I got out of the hospital I started on all my missing assignments that my friends were able to get for me. It took a lot of work but it was so worth it.
I also went to give Kevin a visit in prison, just as he saw me he started to tell me that he didn't mean to shoot me, he just panicked. and so on he apologized about it and hope I do good in life.
It really was a shame he wasn't graduating with us, I still think he doesn't deserve to be locked up.
"Congratulations class of 2016" the principal said through the mic and everyone threw there hat thing up in the hair, good luck finding your hat.
"Avianna!" I heard my name being called out, I turned around seeing Liam running towards me as he threw his arms up like crazy. I laughed at his weirdness and walked towards him.
"Hey girl how you feeling?" He asks worriedly.
"I'm fine Liam" I answer as I rub my round swollen stomach.
"And how's the little one doing" he says in a baby voice as he got on his knees.
I giggle, "Liam it can't speak"
"Girl" was all he said as he rubs my stomach and I looked at him weirdly.
"What?"
"It's a girl avianna" he grins up at me.
"How do you know?" I asked in amusement.
"I can feel it" he responds.
As you can tell, yes I am pregnant. I didn't lose my baby when I got shot which was a miracle. I'm now 3 months pregnant and Cole has been over protective and it's annoying but cute at the same time.
All of a sudden I didn't feel the sun hitting my body, I looked up seeing an umbrella above me I then turned my head slightly seeing Cole with a shy smile plastered on his face.
"What are you doing?" I glared at him.
"Keeping you away from the sun"
"Why?"
"You can dehydrate avianna!" He said over reacting. I rolled my eyes and turn back to Liam
"You really think I'm having a girl?" I asked Liam who was still rubbing my stomach.
"Yes" both Liam and Cole said at the same time.
I sigh softly, I looked around searching for Erika and my dad, probably hugging the life out of each other. Just as I expected my dad was hugging Erika as she laughed. I stared at them in awe. Dad always treated her as his own.
"Okay it's picture time!" Erika said in excitement as she waved her camera in the air. I grabbed the umbrella from Cole's hand and gave it to my dad.
"I'm fine" I assured him as I saw his frown.
I then stood by Erika and Liam stood by her and Cole stood by him.
"Say cheese" my father said and we both smiled at the camera showing our deploma.
The next picture was of me and Erika smiling, hugging each other as we showed off our deploma.
Then we took a picture of Liam and Cole who were smirking at the camera and showed off their deploma.
"Couple picture time" Liam grinned as he grabbed the camera from Erika.
I stood besides Cole and as soon as Liam was going to snap the picture, Cole turned me around towards him and kissed me.
"Perfect!" Liam yelled.
I pulled away and smiled up at home,
"I love you" he says rubbing my cheek with his thumb.
"I love you too"
"How about one more picture of you too" Liam suggest.
I nodded, I walked up to dad and dragged him towds Cole. He stood behind us and placed his hand on my shoulder and the other on Cole's. I then pulled out a picture of my mom as I did that Cole took out a picture of his parents.
"Say cheese"
We smiled at the camera.
"They would be so proud of you guys" my dad whispers to us. Me and Cole stared at each and smiled,
"I know" we both said at the same time.
