I AM

I am not broken

I am still whole

I am no hero

And I bear a tainted soul

But I am no thief

And I am no King

I am no genius,

And I have lost my wings.

I am no wizard,

No God,

No beast,

And I chose not to worship one single priest.

I am a child,

And an old, weathered tree,

I study the Universe

But I choose not to see

I am the Best and the Worst,

I am a bringer of pain,

I am the Boss

And it is I who has control of the reins.

I am scared and cowardly

And I will bow to my enemy

I will kill in their name,

Though I can't guess their identity.

I am a Crier of Joy,

My tears make the ocean,

But I drown in the waves,

Tossed about by emotion.

I am a warrior of good,

And I stand for what's right,

If you hurt those I love,

You should flee from my bite.

I am proud and stubborn,

And I resent traitors,

I hide my jealousy

By saying I'm greater.

I am a mystery to gods,

I am confusing and crippled,

Yet to myself,

I am boring and simple.

WHO AM I?

I AM MANKIND.
