(Annabelle's pov)
(Earlier that same day)I decided not to send Jay to school today after what happened last night. Besides, after the initial adrenaline wore of I had a full on anxiety attack. I cried for hours and felt like I was gonna throw up. The whole time Jay sat there beside me singing You Are My Sunshine.
By the time I was able to calm down and get some sleep it was six am. I had nightmares and woke up screaming several times. Each time Jay simply calmed me down and made me lay back down again. Eventually I gave up on sleep and got up to eat something. Jay had passed out on the couch with a book over his face. I picked it up and glanced over at the clock. It was just after noon.
I had just made myself a sandwich and was sitting down to eat when there was a sound from the bathroom.
"Five minutes. That's all I ask for."
I creeped towards the bathroom and looked inside. Inside was a balding man in a lab coat. He was slightly see through and hovering an inch or two off the ground. I ran back into the living room and called the number that I now knew was for a ghost hunting company. The guy on the phone was British and said that they would be over soon. Until then I decided to take Jay and wait outside.
A few minutes later a white van pulled up and two guys got out. The first was tall and a bit pale. He had neat black hair and wore a black vest over a white shirt along with a pair of black dress pants and shoes. The other had brown hair and wore a grey hoodie with jeans and a pair of heavy combat boots.
I walked over to them.
"Thank you for coming over so quickly.""No problem Madame," said the black haired one that was clearly who I spoke with on the phone.
The brown haired one stepped up, he was a good bit shorter than his partner.
"Hello. I am JOHNNY GHOST! Paranormal Investigator Extraordinaire. And this my partner, Johnny Toast."I flinched a little when he yelled his name.
"I'm sorry but," Jay said as he walked up behind me, "but could you not yell like that, it makes my sister uncomfortable."
"Oh sorry. I get kinda excited sometimes." He smiled sheepishly.
"It's fine. Just please get the ghost out of my bathroom."
The two looked at each other. Like they knew something I didn't.
"Sounds like the Toilet Toucher Sir," Johnny Toast said.
I raised an eyebrow. That was probably the dumbest name I had ever heard, and I was talking to two guys that were both named Johnny and had rhyming last names.
"Don't ask," Ghost said.
And with that they ran into the house carrying some odd equipment. Something about Ghost seemed familiar to me, I just couldn't tell what.
